12 years

Just to document this day on my blog, I wanted to post that today has been 12 years since Adam and I have been together! I was 14 years old and he was 16 when he "asked me out".  :)
If I remember correctly, this was our very first picture together.
(Freshman, Sophomore)
Look at our faces!! Still had those baby cheeks. :)
and I STILL have that jacket- HA!

Our first summer together. This was taken in June of 2002 while eating at Ryans in Murfreesboro with  my family. My Granddaddy Moore was in the states visiting us for a few weeks (he lived in Costa Rica and taught Math at a private Christian school until he passed away in 2007.)

Here we are at school right before I left for an away softball game.

I could go on and on with old pictures- I have SO many!
I always had my camera with me and took a million pictures of the two of us together. I am SO glad I have all of my pictures to look back on. I treasure them more than you know!

We were married June 2, 2007- I was 20 years old and Adam was 21. Again, such babies!

And now, here we are, 12 years later...

with two beautiful kids!

I thank God everyday for Adam and all that he does for us.
I do believe he is one-of-a-kind!

Happy 12 years to us!

Our Weekend

Thursday morning we noticed Landon was developing a pretty nasty cough and snotty nose. He was running a low fever as well but overall was still acting normal. His cough had gotten worse by Friday and he was still running a fever. You could tell by looking at his eyes he just didn't feel good. He had been cooped up in the house for 2 days so we thought some fresh air might be good for him so we headed out to our favorite Mexican resturant and chowed down. Well, Adam, Adalyn and I did. Landon wasn't eating a whole lot since he wasn't quite himself so he just sat in the booth and talked to us and kept us entertained the entire time.
Landon was so congested and the snot, oh the snot, was just pouring. He blew his nose for us everytime we asked but he obviously doesn't know how to "hock up a loogie" yet so the drainage was going straight to his stomach. Two different times he ended up coughing so hard, he threw up nothing but flim/snot. Which was a good thing. That's the only way he was able to get that stuff up and out of his system. Saturday morning I had breakfast with Hope and Holly then once I got home, Adam and Adalyn headed to the farm for the day. Landon and I played tractors, diggers, puzzles, read books, and watched Toy Story and Rapunzel. He took a long nap which meant I took a long nap, too. :)

Sunday morning was the first morning he woke up without a fever since Thursday! That was a good sign but he immediately pointed at his ear and said, "My ear hurts." That caught my attention because he has never had an ear infection before and for him to actually tell me it was hurting made me think something might be up. Within the next 30 minutes of him being awake, he told us 2 more times that his ear was bothering him. We decided to call Dr. Eastham's office and take him in to get checked out. Since it was a Sunday morning, they were only seeing a few paitents so Adam decided he would take Landon and I went ahead and got ready for Church. Come to find out, he had a double ear infection due to all the congestion he was dealing with. The on call doctor prescribed an antibiotic for him and since then, he is 100% back to himself! He hasn't complained about his ear since the very first time he told us anything about it. He still has a cough but that will go away with time. But, when one sibiling gets sick, more than likely the germs will go on down the line. With that being said, Adalyn has a nasty cough now. No other symptoms and is 100% herself, but she just has a cough. Hopefully it won't develop into a snotty mess like Landon dealt with.

Since it was MLK day on Monday, Adam and I had the day off! The weather was beautiful and a warm 60 degrees! We took advantage of it and played outside throughout the day.

Here are some random pictures off my phone...

This girl right here asked for braides. So I delivered!
Her hair is so so curly it was hard for me to grab all the pieces to make two braides but I made it work! It's not quite long enough to hang over her shoulders but it will be soon. She was SO proud of them and looking at her with braided pigtails reminded me of myself in high school playing softball. I wore my hair like that a lot! (and a sidenote, my walls are not that bright! Good grief that's ugly to look at.
Must have been the flash!)

I snapped this a few weekends ago. Landon watching Despicable Me with his sidekick, Singer, right beside him.

I let the kids take a bath in our huge bathtub.
Poor guy.
One day, you will be bigger than your sister.

I think this was before Church last Sunday night. She asked for her pony tail to be on the side. She loved it!

Adalyn before Church a few Sundays ago.
Is she not precious?!

Keeping the kids entertained while Adam was at a meeting at Church.

Adalyn asked that I roll her up in this blanket.
Whatever Adalyn does, Landon has to do, so he joined her.

MLK Day was so warm and beautiful, we played outside quite a bit. We keep this swing on one of our big oak trees in the back part of our yard. Adalyn is way too big for it but likes to swing in it every now and then!

Until next time!

Reflecting on 2013... Happy New Year!

January 2013- Landon turned 15 months old in December and had his check up in January.
He weighed 26 lbs 12 oz.

We celebrated "Christmas in January" with the Clarks like we do every year.
(look how little they both looked!)

February 2013- It snowed!

We also went to Gatlinburg for the weekend with our family. So fun!

In addition to the snow we got the first of February, we also had a few warm days as well! Tennessee weather is so unpredictable. We took advantage of the warm weekend and spent most of our time on the farm.
(This is still one of my favorite photos of her to date!)

March 2013
We visited the buttercup field in Pelham like we (try) and do every year. It's beautiful!

We welcomed pigs to our farm!

I turned 26!

We celebrated Easter with a stomach virus. Oh it was awful! So the following Sunday we wore our Easter outfits to Church and had lunch at my mom and dad's.

Landon also got his very first haircut! He was 18 months old and hated every second of it. (We thought the sucker would help but it didn't!)

April 2013- Landon had his 18 month check up and weighed 28 lbs 4 oz.

April 15 my Granddaddy passed away. We all miss him so much.

I remember watching Landon and seeing his love develop for tractors! You can read about it here!

May 2013- The kids found a small mud hole in the yard and decided to play in it. :)

We celebrated Mother's Day! I am so thankful for my babies and I am especially thankful for my momma!

Adam and I went on our first weekend getaway without the kids! We went with Dustin and Christina to Atlanta. We visited the Coca Cola Factory, ate great food, and went to a Braves game. (they won!) It was so fun!

This particular weekend in May, I put the kids in their overalls and put them in the garden hoping I would be able to capture "that one shot". I think I did pretty good! I love it so much.

We spent Memorial Day weekend swimming and eating at my mom and dad's. We discovered Landon loved the water just as much as Adalyn so we knew our summer full of swimming would be great!

June 2013- On June 2, Adam and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary.

June 3 was Adalyn's first Gymnastics class! She loves it and is still going every Monday at 4:30.

Landon turned 21 months in June and we continued spending the majority of our time swimming!

We also went on a family vacation to Panama City. The weather was absolutely perfect and the water was so clear. We had a blast!

July 2013- Thanks to mother nature, it rained almost every single day this month. After a few days of having to keep the kids inside, the rain got very annoying. Our 4th of July plans at the lake were rained out, but we made the best of it and spent the weekend at my mom and dads with family, swimming, and food!

Adalyn went to the dentist for a routine cleaning
And she participated in the iCantri triathalon at Church. It was a very hot, beautiful day. She did great! Can't wait until the next triathalon this summer!

(Just LOOK at that face! Determination!)
Landon rode his little bicycle around, too.

August 2013-  We spent time on the lake! Adalyn even jumped off the top of the pontoon for the first time. She is fearless and continued to jump off over and over again. We also went tubing!

We ate and played at our Church picnic

Adalyn also started preschool! Our Church has a two day a week preschool called "First Steps". Every Tuesday and Thursday. We decided since she was almost 4, it would be the perfect time to put her in a "school" setting. It has been an absolute blessing! Best decision we made. I am so thankful that Adalyn is learning from such loving, caring, Christian ladies!

This picture of Landon just reminds me of how his skin looked pretty much all summer long.
Mosquitos love his sweet, pale skin.

September 2013- Landon turned 2!
We had a tractor themed birthday party!

We also made sidewalk chalk paint. Such a great activity for the kids!
Recipe here!

We visited our County Fair. I always love Fair Week!
Landon was tall enough to ride all the rides with Adalyn so that was great!

Adam kissed a camel at school! The joys of being an assistant principal!

We also spent a weekend visiting Casey for family weekend at UT. The weather was wonderful and we had the best time!!

October 2013-
We visited the pumpkin patch!

Adalyn's first class field trip was to Granddaddy's Farm!

We met Hunter!

We carved our pumpkins

and we dressed up for Halloween!
 We had Cinderella and Woody

November 2013-
Adalyn May turned 4! We had an Art themed birthday party.

She also moved up to "Wee Worship" at Church. So exciting!

Thanksgiving!

December 2013-
Adalyn had her 4 year check up.
We have a 50 lb 4 year old! She is in the 98% in weight and the 99% in height.

My mom, Adam and I took Adalyn to see "Frozen". Her very first trip to the movie theatre!

Christmas Program at preschool. So cute!

The kids in front of our tree.

and of course we celebrated Christmas!

We had such a wonderful (and busy!) 2013! Looking forward to watching our kids grow in 2014. It is crazy to say that we will have a 5 year old and a 3 year old this year! Wow!
