1st day of Pre-K

Today was Adalyn's first day of Pre-K! We have been talking about it for weeks and last Thursday night at  Open House made her realize school was just around the corner for her. I had to tell her multiple times last night that I would have to get her up early this morning just so she wouldn't be moody and was prepared-ha! She hopped right up and the first thing she said was, "You have to remember my backpack!"
:)

Once we were ready we took her outside so we could document this special day!

Landon wanted to be in the picture, too :)

This pose was her idea.
:)

This is what Landon did while we took pictures- so typical!

Giving daddy some kisses

How is it possible that she looks so much older than 4?!
Growing up way too fast.

Ready to start her day!

I am so thankful for our church and the fact that they offer such an awesome preschool program for our children. Adalyn and I prayed on the way to school this morning for her day, her teachers, as well as her friends. I know they will have a wonderful year!

She has changed so much in just 1 year!

Next year, we are off to Kindergarten!

Time for an update!

Hey everybody! Since school is back in session, I have been swamped at work so I haven't been able to blog as much. We have been keeping busy with work, school, gymnastics, farming, re-doing our dining room (yay!) and just raising a 4 and a 2 year old :)

Adalyn has been moved up to the intermediate class on Monday nights now. She was very excited about starting her new class and I love watching her every week.

Landon attended his very first Tractor Pull a few weeks ago. Adam was proud to take him since he grew up going to them as well.
He was so excited to go and see "BIIIGGG tractors"
:)
He also got to see PaPaw and Charlie since he was pulling that night. From what I was told, he loved it!
They got home around 9:30 and Landon was wiped out. But he told me all about it the next morning.

Our weekends in August have been jammed packed so far with birthday parties, baby showers, and Sunday School get togethers.
The kids always have so much fun when we go to Dustin and Christina's house. We helped celebrate Shelby turning 1!
The kids played outside all night long- they were filthy!
Adalyn also got stung by a wasp on the swing set. I heard screaming and instantly knew what had happened. It got her on her elbow and swelled up pretty good. She cried for a few minutes then was showing everyone what the wasp had done to her. :)
I took this of Landon because it his him to a "T".
Dirt and trucks- what else could you want?
I took this one just to show how much this kid sweats. (his hair always gets soaking wet and starts to curl when he hasn't had a fresh hair cut) We discovered this when he was about 2 months old. I was never able to dress him in cute sweaters for church because he would be soaking wet by the time we would pick him up from the nursery. He always wakes up from his naps ringing wet, too.

I love this one of Adalyn and Levi. They are such sweet friends and who knows, we might be showing this at their wedding one day! ;)

We went over to my parents one night to swim.
Adalyn was showing me her "toe point".
Pretty good if I say so myself!
Landon snacking on an apple.
Then they both took a break from swimming to watch Special Agent Oso.
It was a fun night!

Landon plays with Adalyn's doll house, baby dolls, and strollers all the time. Didn't surprise me to catch him with this crown on his head. He is so interested in everything Adalyn does, even though it gets on her nerves a lot-ha!

These kiddos have been around each other since they were babies-I love our sunday school class and their families !

I added this frame to Adalyn's room the other day. I love how it turned out!

We are ready to update Landon's room into a big kid room since he will be 3 in a few weeks. (AHHH! How is that possible??) I'll keep everyone updated on that journey once we finally start on it!

We also went to Colin's 5th birthday party at the Winchester Swimplex. It was so nice to basically have that huge pool to yourself!
Adalyn is in the "no floaties" club now. She always has to remind me, "Momma, I don't need floaties anymore but Landon does. He is just 2 years old." ha
The kids had so much fun swimming with their cousins!

Adam and I are white water rafting tomorrow with our Sunday School class so the kids are going to Jerry and Nancy's tonight. We plan on grilling steaks and watching a moving and doing absolutely nothing.
Ahhhh

Until next time!

My little gardener

Landon is a true definition of a boy in my book. He loves tractors, diggers, bugs, junk food, and dirt. (Spiders and snakes are his favorite, and he has a strange love for octopuses, too. ??)
Anytime we are at the farm, we always spend a good amount of time helping in the garden. I remembered my camera on this day and was glad I was able to capture him "working". I have a strong feeling he will shed a lot of sweat working in that same garden for years to come.

My Favorite :)
Aren't the sunflowers beautiful? I have enjoyed having them on my kitchen table throughout the summer!
My cute little farmers

iCANtri Junior Triathlon 2014

Saturday, July 26 Adalyn participated in the iCANtri triathlon at Church for the second year in a row. She participated last year for the first time and loved it!She was so excited about doing it again!
The entire church property is roped off for kids to run, bike, and swim and it really is just the neatest activity for these kids to partake in. I am so thankful for our church and for everything they do for our kiddos! I love my church family!

Here she is smiling and ready to go!

At the starting line

These kiddos are considered the pre-k kids and the others were divided into groups based on grade level. I think the ages that were allowed to participate was 3 years-entering 2nd grade.

Y'all, this girl is a runner! She "looks" like one and has some speed to her! For those that know me know that she did NOT get this trait from me.
ha!

Her and Trey stayed neck and neck the whole run!

Time to bike!

The twins rooting her on :)

Seeing this picture is reminding me that we need to raise he seat back up a little. We lower it when Landon rides on it.

Time to "swim"!

 Off to get her "medal"
 She was so proud!

Next it was snack time! They provided lots of snacks and gatorade for everybody.

Of course Landon chose to get a cookie so he and Judson sat down and ate their cookies together. This is Landon's best buddy. He is able to see him on Sunday and Sunday nights and well as Wednesday nights. When we aren't at church, he asks about Judson just about everyday. I love watching these two boys together!

After a quick snack, both kids went "swimming" and they had so much fun! You would think I would have remembered to bring them a change of clothes... nope.
Mom fail.

They had a blast and it was such a fun (and hot!) morning! Landon will be old enough to participate next year so we will have two kids to cheer for!
