Father's Day

Thank you for teaching her the important things in life. Like saying the prayer before each meal and saying "yes mam and no sir" or "mam and sir" as she says. For all the piggy back rides and playing her favorite game of hide and seek. for changing her diapers and clothes, and even picking out a pretty dress and a bow to match without my help. Thank you for singing to her, flipping her upside down, and for explaining things to where she can understand. Thank you for reading books to her, feeding her, and telling her you love her.

Thank you for loving her before she was even conceived. You are the best dad in the world Adam!

Happy Father's Day!

Helen, Georgia

Friday, June 17 we got ready for our 1st vacation of the summer. We litterally packed our whole house (thanks to a 19 month old who requires a lot) and headed to see Paty and Bo (or Pat Pat and Bo Bo as Adalyn says) They live right by the Ocoee so we stayed the night there Firday before leaving for the mountains of GA Saturday morning. Their house and landscaping is simply amazing- I already felt like I was on vacation just being there and being outside. we had such a long day Adalyn was OUT but 6:30. Adam layed her down in the pack and play upstairs and then 30 minutes later, we hear her. We normally let her cry at home if she were to wake up but I knew this was a different place so I thought she might be scared. I went and got her and layed down on the bed at about 7:00. Next thing I know, Adam comes up to check on us around 9 and we were both fast asleep and did not wake up until 6:30 the next morning. Man, I wish I could go to bed at 7 every night! Anyway, once we got up and ready, we loaded back up for the trip to Helen. Now remember Adalyn is not a traveler whatssoever, that is why we have a DVD player in both vehicles. Ugh, i dont know what it is but she is only content in her car seat for a little bit it seems like. She fine unless she is sleepy, but as soon as she falls asleep, I am one happy momma. ha. Helen is a small(very small) town in the mountains of GA. Not too much to do but its still fun! Sunday morning we got ready to hike Anna Ruby Falls. We did this last year and Melissa and I pushed Adalyn and Jackson (7 months old then) in their stollers to the top. It was hard then, but even harder for me this time since im hugely pregnant and all.Adam took over on the pushing this year. I kept feeling the burn and telling myself that it was good for this worn out body of mine. Dumb me left my camera back at the condo (ugh!) so Sherrie took pictures for us. Adalyn fell asleep on the way back down so we hung out for a while until she woke up. We went to a steak resturant for dinner that night which was really good. They didnt have a changing station in the bathroom (come on people!) so I put 2 chairs together and changed Adalyn there. Have a changing station and I would not have to do that. We spent the majority of our time swimming which Adalyn LOVES. She is not scared at all which is a good and bad. She will just walk right into the pool laughing the entire time hoping someone is there to catch her. Her favorite thing was the pool shower. That water was freezing cold but it did not affect her at all!

Aside from swimming all the time, Adalyn got her quilt from Marsha, Sherrie and Melissa! They did an awesome job on it and Adalyn loves it! It's polka dot, which Adalyn says they are bubbles so she "pops" them with her finger. But thank you three so much for the time you put into making her quilt! We love it!
While there, Adalyn said two "sentences" or what I call sentences. Adam walked into the bathroom and closed the door and she looked at me and said "da da pee pee ewwww" Hahahahah. Oh me I cracked up. The things that come out of her mouth! She will repeat anything she hears and if you ask her to say a word, she will do it. The other "sentence" was about a cat. We had gone to town to walk around so Adalyn stayed with Nancy and Patsy. When we came back, she said. "cat hide boooosh" Which means, a cat was hiding in the bush. It was the cutest thing and She still talks about that cat to this day. Oh, I need to add that Adam and I went tubbing with Sherrie, Tori and Hunter. It is nice and relaxing for the most part until you have to kick off a rock to keep yourself going. I wasnt too uncomfortable thankfully. Which is a good thing b/c it takes almost 2 hours to do it! Here are some random pictures- enjoy!

12 more weeks!

Thought it was about time for an update on the newest Clark, Landon. Or "Lan lan" as Adalyn says. I will be 28 weeks on Monday and things are right on track! Went to the doctor today- heard his heartbeat and she measured my stomach. After my next appt. in 3 weeks, I start every 2 which just blows my mind. This pregnancy has gone by so fast but I think it's because I have a 19 month old to chase around. =) She loves to "play" in his room. It's empty as can be but she will run in there and start twirling and make monkey sounds since she knows we bought monkeys for his room. The crib is ordered and should get it Monday! It's beautiful, too! Can't wait to set it up. I am still feeling really good. The heat has not affected me too bad...yet. I am still dealing with major sciatica pain. It comes and goes throughout the day but at times I have to switch to a different leg to stand on just doing my make-up or brushing my teeth. Other than that, I am good to go! I still can't believe I will soon be saying "kids". that's plural people! lol Adam has been painting the kids bathroom. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as it's decorated. Landon is due September 19, which I belive is the 1st day of the fair! Adam and I are like kids when it comes to the fair. That's when we get a cheeseburger, fries and a sun drop and don't feel a bit of guilt about it either. Looks like he may be doing that solo this year! Anyway- here is my recent belly shot at 27 weeks in Helen, GA.

Mother's Day

Oh, what a special day! I can not even put into words the feeling I have of being Adalyn's mom. She brings me so much love, joy, laughter, and much more! Thank you Lord for blessing me with my sweet Adalyn May. (and Landon!)

Easter

Way late in posting about Easter, but I need to do it!
Easter Sunday Adalyn woke up to her goodies from the Easter Bunny. After we played, we got ready for Church. After Church, we went to Adam's parents for a little bit so they could see Adalyn in her pretty, purple dress.(adalyn sees cows!)After that stop, we headed to Hillsboro and spent the day with my family. We had an awesome lunch then went outside and took pictures.

after pictures we changed clothes and came back outside to play! Adalyn even found easter eggs!

We need to remember, Easter isnt about egg hunts or pretty dresses, it's about JESUS!

1st night at Granna and Granddaddy's

Last night, we let Adalyn stay for the 1st time with my mom and dad. We have been away from her for 3 nights before, but we have had either my parents or Adam's come to the house to stay with her. It's just easier because an 18 1/2 month old requires lots and lots of stuff. But, we decided it was time! We celebrated Father's Day with my dad yesterday since we will be on vacation this coming weekend. Mom and I cooked for everyone and we fried just about every piece of food we had. =) It was so good! My grandparents came over too so after dinner we went outside to play, blow bubbles, and throw rocks in Granna's water bowl.

Happy (early) Father's Day to my dad! I Love You!

And the journey begins...

Tuesday night, June 7, was night 1 of no pacifier to get Adalyn to sleep. We knew we needed to start weaning her from it before Landon arrives, but I seriously think we liked it more than her. ha. She was very dependent on the paci, or "fi fi" as she calls it, for her naps and bedtime. She would bring us a blanket with her paci in her mouth and say night night when she was tired. Or, if she was having a melt down, we'd stick that thing in her mouth, and there you have it-peace and quiet. I dont see how sucking on something will completely soothe babies but it sure does and thank goodness! So, today is Saturday, June 11, and tonight will be night 5 of no paci! She has 2 pacifiers, a purple soothie that she has been attached to since birth, and a blue paci we got her around 6 months old. The purple was the newborn size, blue was like 6 month plus or something like that. She never took to the blue one, she preferred the purple b/c its smaller and a bit thinner. So, to start off slowly, we have been putting her to sleep the past 4 nights with no paci, but placing the blue one in her crib once Adam layed her down. As soon as I get her in the mornings, I take it from her. Also for her naps, no paci! At times she will repeat "fi fi" over and over and then we just sing or something to get her mind off of it. So I think we are on the right track with weaning her pacifier. Like I said, i think we wanted her to have it more than she did for sanity reasons, but we must get over that, right? lol. So, it's almost been a week so we have to keep on keeping on! =) Wish Adam and I luck!
