Poop up to his neck
litterally. I was feeding Landon yesterday afternoon while Adam and Adalyn went outside to play. Just like any guy, he poops all the time so it was no surprise when he pooped while he was nursing. After he finished, he started choking so I sit him up to burp him. To my surprise, my hand was now covered in yellow, seedy poop that traveled all the way up to his neck. I grabbed my phone and called Adam to come in and help me. I knew the box of wipes laying on the floor in front of me was empty and I couldn't lay him down to go get some. I started laughing and just could not believe that he was covered in poop- basically from head to toe! Poor guy. So to clean him, it was a team effort by myself,Adam, and Adalyn. I of course had to get my camera and take a picture. (edited for your viewing pleasure =) )

1 month check-up
Adam worked half a day today so he could go with me to Landon's 1 month appt. On the way there, we were betting how much he was going to weigh. Adam said 10 lbs, I said 9 lbs 10 oz. Well, we were both wrong! Our big boy weighs 11 lbs 11 oz! We were so surprised! He was 8 lbs 5.9 oz at birth and at his 5 day check up he went down to 8 lbs. In just 1 month, he has gained 3.5 lbs! I must say, it did make me feel pretty good since I am nursing him. It just reminds me that all of the restless nights are worth it knowing he is growing like a weed! We go back Nov. 16 for Adalyn's 2 year check-up and his 2 month. That means both kids will be getting shots... Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to that.
Here is our BIG boy! Way to go Landon!

Finally did it
It only took 5 weeks, but I decided it was time to venture out with both kids alone. I had a couple of errands I needed to do today so I thought better now than never! Landon slept the entire time and Adalyn was so good. She listened very well at each stop we made which made it a lot easier on me! She did run a circle around the car when I was wanting to put her in her seat. haha. She was laughing while running- she knew better! All i could do was laugh, too. thankfully, without too much of a fuss, I chased her down and buckled her up. After our last stop, which was the post office, (which by the way she LOVES going in there for some reason) she pointed at Sonic and asked for fries. She may look like Adam but she is definitely ALL me! I couldn't resist, so i pulled in and got that baby some fries. =) We came home, ate lunch, then I put both to sleep. Well, I should say, I put all 3 of us to sleep. Adalyn is staying the night with Adam's parents tonight. This is the 1st time we have had just Landon since we brought him home. It's kind of neat to get to "play" with him one on one. Adalyn keeps us so busy with all of her energy we have to keep up with her. Landon basically sleeps most of the time anyway so whenever he is asleep, he is in his pack and play with the door closed. It was a good day all in all. I even made a trip to the tanning bed. ahhh

Getting the hang of this!
Well, maybe I shouldn't say im getting the hang of this... more like it's getting better each day. My confidence that is. Last week, (Oct. 10-14) was my 1st full week ALONE with my kiddos. Fall Break was over for Adam so it was up to me to keep my kids surviving! i was obviously a little nervous on that monday when Adam left for work. I was most nervous about nap time. I am such a stickler when it comes to a schedule and Adalyn has been on one since she was basically born and I'd like to keep it that way as much as possible. I was terrified I wouldnt be able to get her to take a nap and I of course was secretly hoping I would get to nap too. So with that being said, taking a nap is VERY important in this house. To my surprise, I had BOTH kids asleep at the same time! Not only that, we all napped for 2 hours. After our nap, I thought it was probably a fluke considering I was able to get them both asleep at the same time and wondered how in the world I would do it again. But, it was a great day all together in which I was very thankful for. It some what boosted my confidence. I am proud to say that the rest of the week I was successful in getting Adalyn and Landon both asleep at the same time. I would go and lay Adalyn down then Landon and I would lay down together. Our naps each day were right around 2 hours. So I guess its safe to say I am getting landon on some type of a schedule since I start the afternoon nap around 12:30 ish. I remember on Tuesday i ate lunch standing up. Sometimes he doesnt like to lay in his bouncy seat for a long time so I didnt even see the point in sitting down and trying to "enjoy" my lunch. On Wednesday, I met Adam at the door with a screaming baby. I handed Landon off and breathed a sigh of relief that Adam was home. Thursday was pretty normal from what I can remember. On Friday, Landon officially wore a size 0-3 month onesie. Actually, he wore 3 that day. Onesie #1, he COVERED it in spit up. Onesie #2, he peed thru it. Onesie #3, poop graced its presence on it. Boys! He was also out of newborn diapers. I remember Adalyn was in them for 5 weeks. landon beat his sister by a week. I love seeing his little legs and arms get fat rolls. Makes me proud since im the one feeding him! So that was my week in a nutshell. Adalyn has grown up so much within the past month. She isn't even 2 but yet she is acting so much older. She has really gotten into the big sister role. She is so big. We go for her 2 year check up November 16. She is in size 3T jeans and size 8 shoe! Growing up so fast. Landon will be 5 weeks tomorrow. Adalyn slept through the night for the 1st time when she was 8 weeks old. 3 more weeks and then MAYBE Landon will let me sleep! He does better than some nights. A couple of times his last feeding has been around 10:30 and then again at around 3:30, which is very doable. Adam and I have been going to sleep around 8 and sleeping until he wakes up. He has been getting 1 bottle a day and it's normally the 9 or 10 PM feeding. I pump and go back to sleep while Adam rocks Landon. He is liking his baths a little more and more each time. The other night he just layed there. He looked all comfy while I washed him but as soon as Adam washed his hair, the crying started. ha. Oh, my mom bought me some Sock Monkey Pee-Pee Tee-pees. haha. They are so cute. He is getting better about not peeing on me and everything else in sight, but these are for added security. =) When he poops and I change him, I have to be careful and make sure he is FINISHED with his business before I try to change him or else he will poop again like he never has before. nasty. and somehow he has YET to do this to Adam. Thanks Landon. I love you , too. =)

The latest!
I knew I would slack on blogging once I had Landon! Sorry guys! I have plenty of chances to get on the computer, but sleep is more precious to me at the moment. This week Adam has been on Fall Break which has been so nice! I love having him home. I cannot even express how big of a help he is. Last Wednesday Adalyn came up with a low fever and a snotty nose. The fever only lasted a day but I never knew a kid could have so much snot in their nose. It was never ending. By Sunday morning, she still wasn't better and we didn't want to take her to the nursery at church to get other kids sick so I asked my mom to stay home from Church to watch her so we could go. (thanks mom!) Adam is now a Deacon at our Church and this past Sunday was the first time he served The Lord's Supper so I couldn't miss that. Also, it was Landon's first visit to Church! He was 2 weeks old and slept the entire time. We made it to both Sunday School and Service. It was so refreshing to be there. After Church we headed home and relaxed for the afternoon.
I had already changed but this was taken right after church
On monday, we dropped Adalyn off with Adam's parents and we headed to Alabama for the day to see family. This was Landon's first road trip and he slept the entire 3 hours there and back. that's my boy! We were so ready to see Adalyn when we got back. Aside from that, we have been hanging out at the house and playing. Landon is so laid back and really only cries when he wakes up b/c he is usually hungry. He's definitely an eater that's for sure. Adalyn is still in love with him and must kiss every inch of his face. When he cries, she normally says, "Landon, shhhh" haha. It's so cute. She is always wanting to jab his pacifier in his mouth like it's a sucker. We try and explain we have to be gentle but I don't think she is getting the memo. thank goodness babies are tough. He has been accidently stepped on, kicked, hit, etc. by his big sister. I guess it will just make him tough! we are doing pretty good on his routine. He eats every 3-4 hours during the day and his last feeding at night is around 7:30 or 8. He normally will wake up around 1:00 am to eat and then again around 5 or so that morning. I can definitely handle that. It also helps that Adam rocks him back to sleep after I feed him. landon acts like any newborn- eat, sleep, poop, pee (everywhere) and cry. On the other hand, sweet Adalyn is just so full of life! Oh that little girl sure knows how to make my day. She will be two next month and we have been working on "manners" everyday. Though she does not do or say it everytime, she knows to say "yes mam", "thank you" "welcome" "bless you" etc. It is really the cutest thing to hear her say something like that when we don't have to remind her. When she says it all on her own reassures me we are doing our job! She is growing like a weed and feels like she weighs 100 lbs compared to landon. Changing her diaper is much easier since we don't have to be as "gentle" like we do with him. She loves taking a bath. She will walk in from outside and say "tub" over and over until one of us gives her a bath. She has 3 ducks and 1 hippo that she adores and they MUST be covered up with a blankie (washcloth) and they must sit on the edge of the tub. It's so sweet to watch her imagination come to life. Her baby dolls are her best friend. We must know where they are at all times. they need a blanket and their "milk". She laid a baby down on the futon in her play room the other day- turned off the light and closed the door. they were going "night night" and we needed to "shhh" hahaha. Oh me. I am really just rambling on so Ill stop now.
Oh yeah, say a quick prayer for me! yesterday afternoon I came down with a fever, headache and body aches! I do not have time to be sick so please pray I get over whatever this is! It came from out of the blue. I went on a few errands yesterday so im not sure if I picked something up by doing that? Went to the bank, a nasty gas station because it was 2 cents cheaper, and the tanning bed. Anyway, I just hope I get over this. Im feeling a little better right now but not 100%. I have kiddos to take care of so sickness, please go away. please and thank you.
