We are all about routine in this family. (Which can really save you and your kids from going crazy.) Yesterday morning when Landon woke up he came into our room around 6:00.(Remember? He climbs out of his crib every morning around 6:00 or so. If we are lucky, later, but normally it's around 6.) I had already taken a shower and was in the process of putting my make-up on. He opens the door and smiles at me. Then he walked straight into our closet. I just figured he was going in there to see what he could get into. To my surprise he came out with my robe in his hand. He brought it to me and said, "Momma! Milk!" All I could do was laugh and I grabbed my phone as quick as I could and snapped his picture. Every single morning for like ever, I take a shower and get myself ready before the kids wake up. By the time they are awake, I already have my robe on since I change right before I walk out of the door. He is so use to us sitting in the recliner every morning while he drinks his sippy cup and we watch TV. He is so cuddly in the mornings and I love it. I just found it so funny that he thinks they only way he can drink his milk is if I have my pink robe on. About two weeks ago he kind of did the same thing. By the time he woke up, I was already dressed and ready to walk out of the door. Surprise Surprise- he slept later that day! He grabbed my hand and walked me into my bathroom, then into the closet. He pulled at my clothes and said, "Off! Off!" he grabbed my robe and said, "On, On!" It was the sweetest and funniest thing. So, with my work clothes on, I put my robe on over my clothes and sat down with him so he could drink his milk. Sweet boy! He loves a good routine :)

4th of July
Better late than never, huh? The 4th of July was a wipe out! It rained, and rained, and rained for DAYS! We had a huge weekend planned to be on the boat but that obviously didn't happen. But we didn't let that damper our spirits! We swam anyway! (and yes, it was so cold! The 4th of July is NOT suppose to be chilly- Thanks a lot rain!)
My aunt Janet, Uncle Britt and cousin Nathan came up from Alabama for the weekend. I think the kids swam about 3 hours straight on this day!
Adalyn is swimming to Adam from the steps. You can kind of see the distance she is making without her floaties. The kid amazes me I tell ya.
Meet Dolphin. Yes, the whale is known as "Dolphin" by my kids.
Since it was pretty chilly, everyone went back and forth from the pool to the hot tub. I think the water was around 70 something degrees on that day which is freezing. To give a comparison, we went swimming last Friday night and the water was 90 degrees. Ahhh, like bath water! It was lovely!
After swimming, everyone came in. Oh and yes, it was raining just about the entire time we were outside. No lightening though so we were good!
Movie time! Despicable Me!
Someone wanted my camera
All the rain canceled all of the area firework shows which was a bummer! So Adam and I went and bought a few for the kids. We still grilled out and had awesome food the entire day! YUM!
Sparklers! (and freshly bathed kids) :) And yes, it was STILL raining at this point.
My curly Q loved the sparklers!
To light one took forever so we grouped a bunch of them together.
So pretty!
Both of my kids adored Nathan. Can't you tell by the look on Landon's face?
We also had those popper things. My kids called them "pop pops". The kids got a kick out of throwing them down on the porch and watching everyone squirm.
Despite the rain, we had a great 4th of July holiday! We got home late and put the kids straight into bed. We were all wore out!
Adalyn's Dentist Appt.
Last Thursday (July 18) Adalyn had her 2nd dentist appointment. Last week was our last week of summer schedule at work (working Monday-Thursday-- I had Friday's off each week this summer!) so I decided to take off Thursday and stretch out my weekend as long as possible. She was so excited about her visit and she did such a great job! Landon tagged along too. :)
Is she not the cutest little thing ever?!
Landon had a blast playing with all the toys they had and running around :) Everyone at the office fell in love with him!
After her appt, we made our way over to Chick-fil-A. We hadn't visited the Tullahoma location so we figured it was time to check it out! It was super nice and of course the food was delicious. The kids ate so well and then of course played in the playground. Landon wouldn't climb to the very top so he just stayed on the main floor and played there.
Here he is taking someones shoe out of the cubby hole.
He is losing his "baby-ness" and is looking much more like a little boy now!
After playing for a while we made our way back home and all 4 of us took a big nap :) I love being able to sneak in a nap during the day!

iCANtri Junior Triathlon
This past Saturday, Adalyn participated in the iCANtri triathlon at Church. It was for ages 3-1st grade. I was so excited she was old enough to participate this year! I cannot express how much I love our Church family. I am even more thankful that my kids will grow up in our Church just as I did. There is nothing you want more for your children than for them to be around Godly, Christian people and to learn God's word on a weekly basis. Adalyn absolutely loves her Sunday School class and her class on Wednesday nights. It makes me smile when she asks multiple times a week if its Wednesday or Sunday because she knows those are our Church days! I pray Landon will be that enthusiastic as well. The triathlon was divided up based on age. Kindergartners and 1st Graders went first, then preschoolers went next. The entire Church property was roped off for them to run, bike, and "swim". It was so cute watching all the little kids run so hard and bike so fast! Everyone had a blast, esp. my Adalyn!
Here she is right after I pinned her number on her.
While we waited, they played in the rocks.
Yes, her bathing suit strap gets on my nerves. I have been meaning to cut it off all summer and finally did it once we got to my parents house to swim after her race.
Getting ready to RUN!
Standing on the starting line...
And they're off!
Adalyn's face on the next few pictures are absolutely priceless. Sheer determination folks.
Off they go!
The last leg of the run!
Now on to biking. Every boy and girl had a bicycle of some sort. Adalyn had a tricycle. lol. We are getting her a bicycle for her birthday but it isn't until November and there is no point in buying her a brand new bicycle right now for the heck of it. It's a pretty big gift and to me, it's perfect for her upcoming birthday! So, she used what she (and Landon) play on every single day.
and she did great! She peddled so hard and so fast. We could tell she was having so much fun!
Next was the "swimming" portion of the triathlon. I think this was the kids favorite part!
Then she ran to the finish line to receive her medal from Cyndi.
I cannot even express how excited she was that she received her first medal!
Next, snack time! They had snacks for all the participants. (and their siblings ;) :Landon partook in a cookie and a few oranges himself)
He has to stand by his big sister
Showing off his "digger" shirt
While Adalyn continued to play in the water slide, Landon rode around for a while.
Adalyn slippin' and slidin'
My sweet girl was SO proud of everything she did that morning! We were so proud of her, too! Again, we are so so thankful for our Church family and for the love they show to our babies! (and everyone else's, too!)
