Christmas Program at pre-school

Tuesday was Adalyn's Christmas program at pre-school. She was so excited and sang her heart out all weekend long practicing her songs. They told everyone to arrive at 12:00, because if you were late, you would miss it. lol. The gym was full of family members there to watch their child sing. It was so sweet to see all of those little faces! Adam and I both left work to watch, my mom was able to come and Nancy brought Landon, too. So Adalyn had a pretty big fan club!  Some of my pictures turned out blurry since I was sitting so far away from the stage. After the classes sang their songs, we all went to her class Christmas party.

Adalyn in her classroom by their Christmas Tree
See the presents? These were gifts each child made for their parents. Adalyn has been telling me they have been working on a present for us but surprisingly said it was a secret. Totally shocked she didn't tell me! They even got to help wrap the gift with their teacher.

Just LOOK at this sweet ornament! Ah! I will treasure this ornament forever. Now I know how my mom felt when I brought home hand-made Christmas ornaments from school.
I am so proud of it!

Just some random pictures from the party-

Now Adalyn will get to enjoy Christmas break with Adam and I. Her pre-school schedule is the same as our work schedule which is great.  Can't wait to get all the festivities started!

Adalyn's 1st Movie

Saturday afternoon, mom, Adam and I took Adalyn to see "Frozen" at the movie theatre in Murfreesboro. She was SO excited about going as she has been talking about that movie since the previews came on TV. I was just as excited to take her since this was her very first trip to a movie theatre. We went to see the 4:15 movie at the theatre on Cason Lane. My mom and Adalyn go stand in line for popcorn and snacks while Adam and I wait to buy the tickets. The place was packed full of people, just as I expected. It never occurred to me that that certain time would be sold out though! ugh! Wouldn't you know, as we were standing in line, almost to the window to purchase, the people diagonal to us bought the last tickets for that show time. We heard the worker tell them that. Soooo, now what?! We got out of line to find my mom and Adalyn. We secretly told her it was sold out. While we were telling her that, Adalyn looks up at us and says, "I'm so excited! This is my first time at a movie theatre!" Ahhhh! So, a quick change of plans. We tell Adalyn we accidentally went to the wrong movie theatre and that we needed to get in the car and go to a different one. Thankfully, she didn't question us and it didn't even phase her. Adam called the other theatre in Murfreesboro and the next show time was at 4:55- whew! We lucked out! So we high-tailed it over there and purchased tickets for "Frozen".  I was so relieved- I was scared they might be sold out there as well. I asked a guy to take a quick picture of us before we went in to find out seats. It's dark and blurry but I will always treasure it as it will remind us of Adalyn's first trip to the movie theatre!

After the picture, we stood in line for popcorn. We got a big bucket of popcorn, M&M's, gummie snacks, and a drink. Adam got a wild hair and wanted to walk over to Toot's to get an order of fried dill pickles. I'm so glad he did because they are SO good! Before the movie, I took a picture of Adalyn. She held the bucket of popcorn almost the entire movie (until I took it away).
I can honestly say she ate half the bucket by herself.
(The flash was so bright!)

I have to say, "Frozen" was just about the cutest movie I have seen! Every single person in the theatre laughed just about the entire time- it was great! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD so we can add it to our collection!

After the movie, we made a pit-stop at Sam's before heading home. You might be wondering where Landon was during this time? My dad was in charge of him. :) Adalyn went home with my mom so Adam and I went home and plopped down on the couch and watched HGTV. Sunday morning, we woke up at 8:10. Which is LATE to us! It was so nice. We got ourselves ready to headed to Church. We were so glad to see our kiddos! Sunday afternoon consisted of naps! Again, I love love love a quiet afternoon! Sunday night we went back to Church for the Christmas musical and of course, it was amazing. So blessed  to be apart of our Church family!

4 year check up

Wednesday morning I left work at 9:45 to head home to pick Adalyn up for her doctors appt. We made a pit stop at North Coffee to get Adam then we were on our way to Murfreesboro. We had been talking to Adalyn about her check up for a couple of days and she was so excited! Tuesday night she asked me if she was going to get a shot. I told her probably so, and she looked at me and said, " It's ok momma. If you sit beside me, I will be brave!"
I have always enjoyed taking my kids to see Dr. Eastham and thankfully, both kids love him.

The nurse started off by weighing her. She weighed exactly 50 lbs. (98th%)
Then they checked her height. 3 ft 8 in (99th%)
Then she stood on a colored tile and they had her to look at the vision chart. She did so well with that. I couldn't even tell what some of those shapes were. Guess I should get my eyes checked.

Adalyn was all smiles while Dr. Eastham was checking her out. We play doctor at home every single day so she was well aware why he looked in her ears, throat, checked out her eyes, etc. One of the first things she told us when we got in the car was, "Dr. Eastham didn't check my blood pressure!"
Of course all toy doctors kits comes with a blood pressure cuff. :) Sweet girl.

She did get two shots at her appt., but will not have to have any at her 5 year check up. She didn't shed one tear. She was nervous and kind of panicky in her voice, but like we have always told her, it will only sting for a second! She was so proud of herself afterwards (as were we). She couldn't wait to show Landon her Scooby Doo band-aid!

A few snap shots from previous appointments-- crazy how much (and how fast!) she has grown.

6 months

9 months

3 year check up
Everytime I look at Adalyn's hair, I keep thinking, "When is it going to grow?!" But when I look at this picture of her 3 year check up, I can easily see that her curly hair really is growing!

Clark Thanksgiving

One of the many things I am thankful for is celebrating Thanksgiving with Adam's family the day after Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving day can (and is) so busy any way with cooking, traveling, and then throwing kids in the mix, it is so nice that we don't have to rush from one house to the next on that day. We are able to spend the entire day (and most of the night) with each of our family- stress free! It's nice to know that once you arrive, you won't have to pack up within a few hours and start all over again.
Of course, we had a ton of delicious food to eat and all the kids always have SO much fun when they all get together! We had a great day being with family and we enjoyed pretty warm tempertures that day as well!

Lunch time!

The kids loved going in and out of the closet

Time to go on a walk!

Cousins--- Hannah-6 years, Maddison-5 years, Colin-4 years, Jackson-4 years, Adalyn-4 years, Landon- 2 years, and not pictured due to taking a nap, Matthew-- almost 2 years old.

The kids played their little hearts out. We put their pajamas on before we left and they were both out within 5 minutes of being on the road. We had such a good day being with everyone and eating!
We are lucky we get to celebrate Thanksgiving two days in a row :)

Thanksgiving 2013

Last week was so nice! I love working for the school system and being off an entire week with Adam and the kids. I worked Monday but was off the rest of the week. It was nice to lounge around and not be woken by my alarm clock at 5:30 to get ready for work! Now I'm just counting down the days until our 2 week Christmas break.  :)
On Tuesday, we spent our day in Pelham. That was the day is was freezing cold and it was raining/sleeting all day long. Of all days, that's the day Adam picked for me to help him on the farm. I bundled up so it actually wasn't too bad. Nancy cooked homemade lasagna and we celebrated Adam's birthday as well. It was delicious! Wednesday morning, we went to Wal-Mart and got a few things and we also bought Adalyn her very own little tree for her room. She was so excited! Before going to Wal-Mart, we stopped by Hardees and got the kids a sausage and biscuit. Once back home, we put up our tree and all of our decorations! I normally don't put the tree up before Thanksgiving, but I knew we would barely be home the entire weekend so it worked out perfect! We have had to stress to Landon not to touch the tree so he will walk right up to it, put his arms behind his back and say, " Do not touch it. No No. "
He has done great with the tree so far. Last year he was 14 months old so he actually somewhat understands the concept of not taking ornaments off this year. It's so sweet to watch the kids just sit and stare at the tree and name all the ornaments they see. Of course Landon picks out all the tractor ornaments. We had to put those up higher due to the fact that he was playing with them with his farm set and "parking" them in the barn. That afternoon the kids took long naps and I think I slept, too! I love a long, quiet afternoon. We also started to prep some of the food we were in charge of bringing and I picked clothes out, got shoes ready, and grabbed pajamas for Thanksgiving night since I knew we would be coming home late. You know me, it's better to think ahead and pack early than to do it the morning of when you are rushing to get out of the door on time!

Thanksgiving morning came and we got ready and headed to Hillsboro. We arrived around 9:45. My grandparents house is my favorite place to be so it felt so good to be there! We put our things away and my mom and dad and everyone else arrived shortly after. We were all busy in the kitchen and we finally set down to a huge Thanksgiving lunch around 12:00. Everything was delicious!! After lunch, we headed outside to take our pictures like we do every year. It's neat to look back and see how much everyone has changed!

Here are some random pictures from Thanksgiving Day!

Autumn and Adalyn--- and my waterbaby from when I was a kid!

Landon is playing peek-a-boo.

The kids loved this fairy that would fly when you would pull the string.

We had to get a picture of Landon eating baked ham. He walked around all day long eating slices of ham. This kid will not eat mac and cheese, but will eat baked ham. Typical.

Every year since I was a kid, we would take a picture of all the grandkids and would give it to my grandparents at Christmas time. My grandmother always looked forward to opening that up each year. Even though they are both gone, we are going to keep up the tradition. So below are the grandkids (and spouses) and the great-grandchildren. She would have loved to have seen this.

Mom and Dad with their kids and grandkids!

Food!

Erin had a good idea to get the kids picture on grandmother and granddaddys bed. Us "big" kids spent so many years sleeping and playing on that bed, so it was sweet to put the little kids on the bed and snap a picture of them.

This one just makes me laugh!

Adalyn asked me the other morning if I could put a baby in my belly... She said she wanted a sister. I told her Hunter was the baby of the family right now. lol

So sweet!

For whatever reason, I love this one of Landon. He looks so grown and I love that he has a tractor in his hand. My little farmer boy- so precious!

The weather was so nice!

We attempted a family picture with the help of a timer on my brothers camera- hopefully at least one of them turned out!

We spent the rest of the day eating, playing, the guys shot their guns, relaxing, eating some more, and putting up the Christmas tree! It just wouldn't feel right if we didn't put it up, so it only made sense. :)

Aunt Janet, Uncle Britt, and Nathan stopped by before heading home to meet Hunter.

Like every year on Thanksgiving night, we celebrate all the November birthdays. We have 5 birthdays in November! (plus more cousins who celebrate November birthdays, too)

What would we do without an iPad?

Looking through old pictures

Autumn gave the kids a bath. Adalyn told me that Autumn does a really good job giving baths and that it was a lot of fun. They stayed in there forever and played and splashed! The kids had a ball. We left around 8:45 or 9:00 (I think) and headed home. Both were asleep in the matter of minutes. We had such a fun day with our family and I am so so thankful for the closeness we share!

The rest of the weekend was spent going through drawers and closets dividing things up. Thankfully, my Grandmother thought ahead and wrote down who gets what piece of furniture, clocks, decorative pieces, etc. That was such a huge help. We still have a LOT more to go through, but we have at least started on it.
