Bless her heart- she doesn't have ANY personality. ;)

Our Weekend

It may look like I have been slacking with my blog, but I promise, I haven't. I have two blogs that I have been finished with for a week or more, just haven't uploaded the right pictures to go with it. So keep checking back. I promise, I will eventually publish them. And no, I have not forgotten about the hall closet I said I was going to organize. I will get to it. Eventually.

Landon is now 16 months old and is starting to talk! More than just "da da" and "ma ma". I am proud to say that his new vocabulary now consists of "Wow!" "Go!" "Cheese" "E I E I O" "Yes" and "Bye Bye". It's adorable listening to his little voice. You always wonder how your kids will sound when they start talking and just as I figured, his little voice is precious. :) Landon's personality is growing by the day. This is his new trick.
And this morning while Adam and I were sitting at the table eating breakfast, he looked at us, layed down on the floor, signed "sleep" and layed his head down. We busted out laughing and told him to do it again. He thought it was funny, too.

Friday night we went to my granddaddy's house and we all ate chili. Well, I ate a bowl of chili, everyone else had chili dogs. Adalyn loves playing upstairs with all of my old baby dolls and Landon enjoys climbing up and down the stairs. Up. Down. Up. Down. Ugh. It got annoying quick. It's so hard to keep him off of those things. I'll be glad when he's "over" the stair stage and he's old enough to go up and down without me worrying to death. On Saturday, Adam and the kids went to Pelham. I stayed home to sew and clean, then went back to my Granddaddy's to spend some time with him for the rest of the day. Helped my dad feed the cows then I went home. Took a shower and waited on Adam and the kids to get back home. I gave them a quick bath then we loaded back up to go to Hillsboro to spend time with Christopher, Brandy, and her family. We all chowed down on pizza and chocolate covered popcorn. Trust me when I say it was amazing. Adalyn loved playing with Bailey, Abby, Rylan and Eli and Landon just followed them where ever they went. It was after 9 when we left, but before we did, Adalyn and Rylan kept hugging and kissing each other. It was hilarious!
For someone who never forgets their camera, I did on this night. So I snapped this one on my cell. We had a great time.

Sunday morning we got ready for Church. On the way home, Adalyn was playing with one of my old cell phones. Sometimes she refers to it as her "lucky talkie", aka- Walkie Talkie. But on the way home, she was "talking" on the phone to Casey. Casey's name is brought up atleast 20 days during the day at our house. She loves him so much.
She has learned to cross her eyes. She finds this to be hilarious.

We ate lunch then I went and hopped in to bed with Adalyn while Adam put Landon to sleep. She asked me what Adam and I did in Sunday School. I told her and then she asked what we did in service. I told her we sang songs, prayed, and listened to Dr. Cox preach. She asked me to sing to her and after about 2-3 minutes, she was out. I got up and sat myself down in the recliner, covered up, and watched HGTV. Adam left to go to a program at school so I had a very quiet house. I ended up napping for about 45 minutes which was nice. The kids ended up sleeping for 3 hours. Once they woke up, we ate and got ready to head back to church.

We had a great weekend! Can't wait to do it again!

Organize it!

Ok, most of you know how much I love to clean and organize things. I seriously can't let myself go to bed if our living room hasn't been picked up from all the kids toys, or if the kitchen hasn't been cleaned up from supper. I sometimes test myself and see if I can actually overlook the books and blocks in the floor, sippy cups on the couch, and baby dolls randomly placed everywhere, and 9 out of 10 times, I just can't. I know it will only take like 1 minute to pick everything up and put in it's own place so I just do it because that's my awesomely/weird personality. and Ahhhh, when I wake up the next day, I wake up to a picked up house. Not a necessarily clean house, as in deep clean, but come on people, I work and have two little ones! The mopping, dusting, toilets, and tubs get done sporadically. I have always been like this, ask anyone who really knows me. There is just something about a picked up house and a Scentsy warmer on that will just make me breathe just a little bit easier. Do you get me people? Since you know a little bit about how I LOVE to keep things cleaned (or picked up) I now bring you to the cabinets under my sink. One would think I would keep it immaculate, but that is just not the case. Which strikes me as odd considering the neat freak I am, but I would just "toss" my cleaning bottles and cans back under there and close it real fast before something came tumbling out. I know, sounds nothing like me! But, it's true. I can't believe I'm admitting to that but Tuesday night, Adalyn and I re-organized it. It's not like I had to do all THAT much, I just simply got a basket I wasn't using for anything and put my most used cleaning products in there. Re-arranged where the trash bags went as well as the ziploc bags and there you have it, (somewhat) organzied. It's still not pretty, but I can atleast open the cabinet and clearly see what I'm needing to get as oppossed to moving cans and bottles to the side, which would cause them to fall down or lean on one another. I took a before and after picture, and it still doesn't look all that wonderful, but believe me, it's much much better.

I'm in the mood to decrapify my house. (mainly closets) Now, to tackle our hall closet. I'm still debating if I want to show everyone what that looks like...

Landon's 15 month check-up!

Adam and I took Landon yesterday morning for his 15 month check up. He turned 15 months in December and Dr. Eastham's first available day was in January. We left work early and when we got home, Landon could not contain his excitement! He kept squealing and flapping his arms up and down. It was too sweet. Landon did great at the appointment. Keeping him entertained in a small room while waiting on Dr. Eastham was quite a challenge. We let him rip up the paper on the table, looked at books, he messed up the blinds, and kept opening the little door that stored the garbage can. There was also a bus decal on the wall that he kept reaching and grunting for so occassionally I would have to pick him up high enough just so he could touch it.

Getting his big ol' head measured!

Looong baby!

Getting weighed

Sweet boy!

He weighs 26 lbs 12 oz (90th %) and is 33.5" long (97th %). I checked Adalyn's baby book to see what her stats were when she was 15 months and she weighed 25 lbs 9.5 oz and was 33" long. I am so glad I documented things like that. I love going back in time and remembering how little she use to be!

Some new things Landon is doing:
Can say "Da da" "Ma ma" "Ba ba" "Row, Row, Row" (as in the song)and "Cheese"... or more like "Cheeee".

New signs he has picked up: Diaper, tree, Lion, his version of boat, and drink.

When asked, he will point at his eyes, ears, nose, teeth, tongue, head, belly and will pull his hair when we ask where his hair is. The funny one is we will ask "Where's your bottom?" He procedes to grab his man hood and dies out laughing. It's hilarious. I love this age! Esp. since he can somewhat communicate with us. It's so much fun.

Saturday, December 22

We celebrated Christmas with my mom's side of the family the Saturday before Christmas. It was so good to see them! We missed Emily; and Lauren, Chris and their gang though!

Kids and their toys! Toys are much different nowadays then when I was little.

Adalyn followed Nathan and Houston around most of the day. She kept asking, "Where are the boys?"

It was a great Saturday with wonderful, fattening food and an awesome dessert made by yours truly. :) It was so good to see all of them! I think around 7:00 and after we gave the kids their bath, we headed home. Everyone else stayed the night and headed back to Alabama the next day.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning is always started with a big breakfast from Cracker Barrel. Adam and I stop to pick it up on the way to my parents. Once we arrive, we all pig out. Then, shortly after, we all open presents. This year Adalyn was ALL into opening presents. She got the concept of everything this year which made it SO much fun! So far, age 3 has been my FAVORITE! Landon liked to rip the paper, but then got bored very quickly. He wanted to play on the stairs instead so Adalyn opened some of his presents for him. I'm sure by next year, he will not allow her to do that.

My grandmother cross stitched a quilt for Adalyn before she was born. I believe it's one of my most treasured "baby item" Adalyn has. She started on Landon's quilt before he was born, but just couldn't get it finished before she started to get really bad. As a surprise, my mom had it finished for me (and Landon). I am so proud of it and I love that Granddaddy was able to stand in this picture with us. :)

After presents, and when all the mess was picked up, we played, ate some more, and slept. The guys left to head to Murfreesboro to The Outpost to spend some money, but pulled in only to find out they were closed. ha. So in the mean time, mom, Brandy and myself played and slept with the kids.

Adalyn and Landon got a camping tent with camping accessories as one of their gifts. Adalyn loved putting all of her new toys in there to play with. She then wanted it on top of my parents bed so she could watch her new DVD, Doc McStuffins.

Christmas Eve day always goes by super fast for some reason. Before we know it, it's time to get EVERYTHING packed up and get everyone dressed to head to our Christmas Eve service at Church. We are always rushed but some how always manage to get their (somewhat) on time. With Adam being a Deacon, he helps serve The Lord's Supper which is special. We took Landon to the nursery and decided Adalyn was old enough to stay with us for the service. She did great. She hopped back and forth between Christopher, Brandy and my parents, but she did keep pretty quiet so I was thankful for that. At the end of the service, everyone receieves a candle and we sing Silent Night. We let Adalyn hold her own and told her to absolutely NOT move it around or play with it. The wax normally rolls down under the cup and burns me so I for sure did not want it to happen to her. Thankfully, no burns! She loved holding it.

Once we got home, we unpacked the car and put some things away. I also just had to have a picture with my beautiful girl!
I LOVE her personality!
(and I also love the fact that she LOVES the camera :) )

We then put the kids in their Christmas pj's and we made cookies and watched "Flicker Saves Christmas". For those who don't have a toddler, this would be an episode from Handy Manny... one of Adalyn's favorite TV shows. Since we have On Demand, she knows we have access to all Disney Jr. shows. She thinks she should get to watch them whenever she pleases, but she is very wrong. Anyway, she asked only about a million times to watch this episode throughout the whole month of December. "Please mommy I watch Flicker Saves Christmas?" Adalyn then helped Adam feed the reindeer. We got some "Reindeer Food" from Co-Op and they put some hay down as well. Adalyn was SO excited to do this.

We put cookies, an orange, and a glass of milk out for Santa then we read a few books and put the kids to bed. Once they were in their beds, Adam and I got to work! We were both so eager to put their toys together and get everything set up for them!
(Looks like I picked a blurry picture of this. Sorry about that! And it was also zoomed up just on her dollhouse. Oh well, you get the point!)

Adam and I then went to bed ourselves thinking Adalyn would be waking us up insanely early the next day... but thankfully, she didn't. :)

Reflecting on 2012--- Happy New Year!

January- Adalyn was figuring out what it meant by being 2--- as in, we quickly learned what the term "terrible two's" meant. Landon turned 4 months old in January and by 4 1/2 months, was starting to eat cereal and bananas.
Look at Adalyn-- Her hair was SO short! It's been neat to watch her hair grow and to watch her gorgeous curls develop!
Here is our sweet and chunky little boy. At his 4 month check up he weighed 17 lbs 1 oz

February- We celebrated Valentine's Day!

(Adalyn was also doing some serious potty training this month.)
We also made a trip to Gatlinburg with my family. Landon's first "mini" vacation.

March- was abnormally WARM! It was great! Landon experienced his very first playdate
Adalyn walked around naked in a field of wheat at Jerry and Nancy's house
We played with the cows and she helped Adam mow the yard.

April- We celebrated Easter! and the fact that Adalyn was potty trained!

One of Adalyn's favorite things to do is ride on the mower with Adam
Landon turned 7 months old and we dedicated him at Church

May- was HOT! We took walks everyday--- this is how things ended up at the end of our walk
Landon attended his very first Lady Raider softball game. My old stomping grounds!
He also had 3 teeth and would sway back and forth in the crawling position.

Our big boy turned 10 months old and he moved up to a "Big Boy Carseat!"
He also took had his first swim lessons. It was a "Mommy and Me" class.
Adalyn was a FISH in the pool!! That girls loves to swim. At 2 1/2, started swimming without her floaties on. I know, it sounds crazy when I type it but it was absolutely WILD to watch her. She asked my mom if she could swim to the bottom and pick up her goggles so my mom pushed her down, she grabbed them, then came right back up. She then started swimming to us from the stairs. I posted a video of her doing it on my facebook page and here's where I blogged about it!
We welcomes 6 new members to our family in July as well. Pigs that is! They were a great addition to Clark Farms. They are tasting pretty good right now, too. ;)

I also started back to work on July 9 and we also enjoyed watching the Olympics this month, too.

August- We kept busy cooking all of Landon's baby food. Notice the butternut squash in the background? Adalyn was getting ready to help us prepare it!
Adalyn and Landon both moved up to a bigger Sunday School class in August. So sad that they are growing up, but so neat at the same time!
Landon discovered he liked meatloaf
Adalyn ate lots of popcicles
and Landon became a pro with the walker!
Landon turned 11 months and I began the weaning process and we also started to add whole milk to his bottles. He also started walking!
Adalyn shared her big coloring pages with her class on Wednesday nights at church. She was so proud of herself for sharing with everyone!

We celebrated Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for.

December- Landon turned 15 months old and took milk from his sippy cup! WAHOO!
We took Adalyn to the Christmas parade.
Both kids got the stomach bug and passed it on to myself and Adam. Then Nancy got it then my mom got it. Thanks kids. It was awful!
Adalyn and Landon loved finding our elf, "Wilson" each morning.
Christmas was so fun this year. Adalyn is at the PERFECT age and understood everything. Landon had a ball ripping paper open.
and last but not least, Adalyn had her first Dentist appointment and she did great!!

We have had such a wonderful 2012. It has been exciting to watch our beautiful children grow and learn. Click here to read about our year in review for 2011! Time flies! Happy New Year everyone!
