Ahhh. Magic Kingdom. This was our official first full day at this park. When we arrived on Saturday, we hopped on a bus and made our way into Magic Kingdom to use our first fastpass at 5:00 to meet Anna and Elsa. (If you missed it, read day 1 here!) But this day was a day fully dedicated to the happiest place on earth, Magic Kingdom. Hands down, without a doubt, my most favorite park in all of Disney. This morning the park opened at 9:00. I had never watched the Welcome Show and I was soooo excited to experience it for the first time! Silly maybe, but it's just one of those mushy Disney moments I had been waiting on! We were second in line to scan our bands to get inside and wait for the show :) We don't mess around!! We had front row seats and I enjoyed it so much- and it's not even that long! lol I think I smiled the entire time. The welcome show was such a great way to start off our day!
At this point, there may have been 50 people there with us. Any time past this point, if you want your picture taken at this particular spot, you are liable to have gobs of people in the photo with you!
I hope my kids remember the welcome show as they grow and be eager to watch it every time we go!
As we were waiting prior to the show, Adam and I were trying to come up with our game plan so we would know exactly what area of the park we wanted to conquer before the crowds got crazy. Typically, you can assume the majority of the crowd will head back to Fantasyland and because I knew we had fastpasses for the day and the fact that we were coming back to the park that night, I didn't feel like it was an urgency to fit in Fantasyland first thing that morning. So, we chose Frontierland and headed straight to ride Splash Mountain! To tell you just how early we were, Cast Members had to walk us and the small group that was with us into Frontierland! We were literally the very first group of people into that section of the park that day. The park was so "quiet" and the sun was shining so beautifully, I really just soaked in my surroundings. We rode Splash Mountain then walked right on to Big Thunder Railroad. These two specific rides are rides that will almost always have a 60 minute or more wait all day long. So if you were unable to score a fastpass for either one of these rides, arrive when the park opens and head back to this area and ride them.
My mom and dad were meeting us on this day to take in all the Disney fun and after we finished riding Big Thunder Railroad, there they were! The kids ran straight to them and gave them big ol' hugs. It was probably 9:20 by this point and we had already ridden Splash Mountain and Big Thunder. It pays to arrive there on time! With my parents there, we decided to ride Big Thunder Railroad again! There was still no wait time and we walked straight on the ride. So, we rode 3 rides in 30 minutes, and those 2 particular rides are a few of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom.
I caught the kids running to Granna and Granddaddy! Let's get this day started!
Big Thunder, here we goooo!
Best. Day. Ever.
Enough said!
Look who we ran into, next?
Peter Pan!
Get to know your My Disney Experience app. It will be your best friend for every park you visit! And speaking of that app, because you will be on it on and off all day long, it will easily drain your phone battery. I ordered this off Amazon so I could quickly charge my phone if I needed to throughout our days at the parks. It's inexpensive and I was SOO happy I had it on our trip. By the time you take pictures, post to social media, and check your Disney app, my battery life would dwindle quickly. This saved me!
Back to the app. It will tell you what characters are out at the parks on that particular day and will tell you their times and locations so you know where to go. I just happen to look at my app as we were walking towards Fantasyland and saw he would be coming out within the next 10 minutes. I knew where he met from meeting him last time,
2014
Awww!
and so we stopped to wait. There was no line because if you don't know to be looking for him, you wouldn't even know that's where he meets. It's right beside Peter Pan's Flight!
After meeting him, Adam, myself and the kids had a fastpass for the Seven Dwarfs Mine train and my parents had a fastpass for Peter Pan's Flight so we split up for a few minutes and finished at the same time. Mine Train is so hard to score fastpasses for. I'm so thankful we had them!
The wait time for this ride every time I saw was over 100 minutes. No way!
We then found a table in the shade and waited in a 10 minute line for the carousel. This is a must when you visit this park, too! It's absolutely beautiful and an old time favorite for the park.
See Adalyn? She was up there with Adam and my mom and I stayed back with Landon
Our view as we rode!
My dad wanted to buy us a souvenir for the day so Adalyn and I both chose Minnie ears! We wore these ears the rest of our trip. My plan is to keep these ears and take them on our trips we make in the future. I already have them stored away- I can't wait to be able to pull them back out!
Next up, Buzz Lightyear ride! When we came back in 2014, Landon was just 2 1/2 years old. We rode it then and he has talked about it since we left. No joke. He was so excited when I told him that's what we were doing next. Fastpass for the win!
Next, Landon chose his souvenir for the day. Of course, it was Buzz!
We still had some time before our lunch reservations so we decided to chill out for a bit and ride the people mover!
Once off the people mover, we headed for Cinderella's Castle! We had lunch reservations to dine with the princessess. I had one extrememly excited little girl. Thankfully, due to having an older sister, Landon loves every single princess and knows everything about them and their movies. Before we left for the trip, he kept telling me he was going to eat with Jasmine. And give her a hug. lol
Here we are waiting to enter!
Adalyn got ahold of my camera
:)
We waited maybe 15 minutes and when our name was called, we were able to enter! This was our first time to be inside the castle. It's so neat to know what it looks like now!
We met Cinderella first, before heading upstairs to the restaurant.
See her sweet face looking up at her?
#givemeatissue
sweet hugs!
The princesses (and all characters you will meet) are 100% in full character at all times. They carry on conversations and take their time with you! Such a great experience.
My smore for dessert- yum!
Ha! I love this precious face!
After lunch, we left and headed back to our resort. My parents stayed at a Hilton resort in Orlando so we weren't together since we stayed on Disney property. So we scheduled what days we would meet up during the week and it worked great! I'm a firm believer in taking a break half way during your day to rest, especially if you're at Magic Kingdom for the day.
This is what was going down in our room before we napped for a bit :)
Adam and I were both so sweaty we took showers before we laid down. Once we were all up, we felt refreshed and ready to take on the night! We made our way back and arrived probably around 6:00 or so.
We ate supper at Cosmic Rays (quick service) and my mom and dad met us there. It started to lightening in the distance so a few of the rides were on hold so we just sat at our picnic table for a while and talked and then went and rode the people mover around Tomorrowland again. It never rained thankfully and about 30 minutes later, the rides were back up and running so we carried on with our night!
We then went to Enchanted Tales with Belle once I saw there was only a 15 minute wait posted. You go through her cottage before going into the library where you will see Belle. It's about 10 or so minutes and they choose kids to help play out the movie. It's adorable and fun to watch. Landon was chosen to be "Chip" and Adalyn was a dancing dish.
Here we are waiting to go inside the library. Belle's cottage makes you think you are really in the movie. It's so neat to look around!
My little escape artist!
The height of Belle throughout her years
I'm well aware this looks like a pregnant pose...
The answer is no.
lol
And just for fun...
As soon as we finished Enchanted Tales with Belle, it was almost 9:00 so we stopped in our tracks and watched the fireworks!
After the fireworks, I checked my phone to see how short the lines were. A parade was fixing to start so we skipped it to walk straight on to some rides.
The barnstormer and Dumbo are some of our favorites! The barnstormer is such a fast roller coaster and what's so awesome about it is it's a fun roller coaster for adults and little ones! When Landon was 2 he was able to ride it. It's another must!
Next, we decided to head over to Adventureland to ride the magic carpet ride and to get the very best snack in all of Disney, a Dole Whip.
It was after 11 PM by now. We were getting tired so we all sat down and enjoyed our delicious snack! It's a MUST when you visit Magic Kingdom- trust me!
Just as the park was closing at 12 AM, we stopped in front of the castle for a quick picture.
We were coming back on Thursday for another day at Magic Kingdom but my parents were not so we definitely had to snap their picture in front of the castle before we left!
We had such an amazing day. I pray I never forget it!
I really feel like our day went so smoothly and we all enjoyed every second of it. Even in all the heat!
Thank you, Magic Kingdom, for providing hours of fun entertainment for my family! You are #1 in my book and heart!
And that's Day 3!
Next up, our rest day and dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Flordian with Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the evil step-mother and step-sisters- SO FUN!
Stay tuned!
