Fun-filled weekend!

Oh boy! Where do I start? Oh I know, Adalyn is offically better! no more coughing, sneezing,(well, every now and then), snotty nose or wheezing! Thank you Lord! Shew, I didn't realize how nerve wracking it is to have a sick baby. And the thing is, she wasn't even all that sick! BUT, Im a 1st time momma so I have every right to be a nervous wreck. Now that she no longer has a snotty nose, she now has boogers. And lots of little crusty ones. haha. Remember the game Operation? and how you can't touch the sides or it would buzz? Well, speaking of boogers, she had the biggest booger for about 2 days or so. Her poor little nose was red and probably raw for that matter b/c we had to suck all the snot out of her nose just so she could breathe, and after doing that for a few days, she now automatically starts whinning when she sees the blue bulb coming her way. Anyway, since she wouldn't let us us the bulb, and of course my finger is way too big to fit in her nostril, we decided to use tweezers to fish it out. of course, I was nervous about stabbing her since she is a wiggle worm, but thankfully, no accidental stabbing was done and I had successfully pulled the booger out. That, my friends, is why it reminded me of Operation. =) I should have been a surgeon I reckon. I wanted to keep it just because I was amazed as to how big it was! HAHA. Only I would think of something like that.

Enough booger talking, we had a visitor this weekend! Adalyn's great-grandmother stayed with us Friday and Saturday night. My parents and granddad went to Alabama to meet up with the rest of my family to go to the races and so we had the pleasure of spending time with my grandmother! Her and Adalyn played, ate, and slept! What a life. She sure did enjoy having her great-grandmother here. She got to stare at someone else's face instead of her daddy's or mine. =) It's good to mix things up a bit. Check them out!

Adalyn also experienced her 1st Relay for Life walk this past friday! She was so good. She slept for the 1st 30-45 minutes or so... then woke up with a smile on her face (like always!) and she saw her Aunt Hope standing in front of her. Of course Aunt hope needed to hold her so Adalyn got a free ride and even stopped to make a funny face!

Oh... Drum Roll Please......... Adalyn has her 1st tooth coming in!! Can you believe it?! I can't! My baby is getting too big! and too fast! Yup, we discovered it Friday night! This past week when she was sick, she was a little fussier than normal and we just figured it was b/c she didn't feel good, but now we know on top of not feeling good, she had a tooth trying to push through her gums. I would be fussy too! I have tried to take a picture of the cute little tooth. Granted, all we can see it the top of it, but Im still so proud. =) It hurts my finger when she bites on me, I can only imagine what the ladies will feel like she she is nursing. Oh boy! thankfully, they haven't felt any sharp tooth chomp down, YET. So, this is what Adalyn has been doing lately with her mouth.

how cute is that?!

Annnd another thing, we seriously think we have an advanced baby on our hands! As do all parents with a child, I know, I know, but check this out!

Is a 5 month old suppose to stand like that?! we both started freaking out when she grabbed on to whatever was in front of her and stood straight up like, "look at me!" Ah, so proud.

I know this post was long, but I had a lot to cover! So, I end with this.

Thank you Adalyn for letting us be your parents. =) How did we ever get so lucky?

Bronchiolitis...

Well, our poor baby is sick! This is day 4 of coughing, sneezing, snotty nose and to top it off, she is wheezing. Gosh, it just breaks your heart when your little one is sick. Went to the doctor today and she has bronchiolitis. She hasn't been sleeping great the past 2 nights. We were fighting a losing battle last night. We went in and out of her room for at least an hour or so. She kept waking up coughing so that would make her cry. Needless to say, after midnight, we brought her to bed with us. Yup, I said it. She slept with us. first time EVER so I am pretty proud about that. That was one thing Adam and I said that she would NOT sleep with us. Oh how tempting it was when she was a newborn to put her in the bed with us. yeah, i knew she would sleep better, but I did not, under any circumstance, want to make that a habit! So, we rode it out through all those sleepless nights and at 11 weeks old, we put her in her crib from the pack and play. She sleeps great! every once in a while we will hear her over the monitor making some noises but other than that, she is a pretty good sleeper! =) But last night, poor baby couldn't breathe and she kept coughing and coughing. So, yeah, I brought her to bed with us. Hopefully just one night of sleeping in the big bed won't spoil her. But I have come to realize that when your baby is sick, you will do whatever possible to make them feel better! I could just hold her all day and all night if I could; but I would definitely not be able to get anything done around the house. So, please pray for little Adalyn that she starts feeling better!

On another note, I have been off from work this past weekend. Thank goodness. that was a much needed break. So on Friday we spent the day with our friends, Brad and Amanda and their kids, Blake, Noah and Kayleen. We had fun tilling up the garden and planting veggies. Or should I say THEY (adam, amanda, blake and noah)had fun doing it. I hung out on the deck with Adalyn and Kayleen.
Saturday, Granna and Granddaddy watched Adalyn and Adam and i went to Murfreesboro to do some shopping. We also ate at Adam's favorite resturant, Toot's. I am glad he got that out of his system. ha. I don't really care much for it but whatever makes him happy! lol. Now its Sunday and we didn't go to Church today. There was no way we were going to take Adalyn to the nursery with her being sick like this. I know i wouldnt like it if someone brought their sick baby to the nursery to get my baby sick. don't think so! So we have hung out at home, played, changed diapers, planted flowers, and slept. oh, and I have been cleaning. Enough rambling from me, got to get ready to head to my parents for dinner. Bye for now!

Our baby is 5 months old!!

yup, I said it...5 months old! I feel like I just had her yesterday!! So, what's going on in the Clark household? For starters, Adalyn is starting to flip over while she sleeps so no more just plopping her down on the couch! I love waking up every morning to her making sweet noises over the monitor and walking into her nursery and finding her in a position we didn't leave her in the night before. It is so funny. Speaking of funny, Adalyn sleeps through the night and has for a long time now. Well, I heard her over the monitor and thought, ok, its 6 AM, got to get up and feed her. I walk in her room, get her and we go to the living room and turn on the light and lift my shirt to feed her when I started thinking, why isn't she squirming around like she always does in the mornings because she is so hungry? I look down at her and her sweet little head is resting on my shoulder. I look up and realize its really dark in the living room, look at the clock and it was 1:15 AM. HAHA! I just assumed since I heard her making noises it was morning and time to get up. lol. Next time, Im definitely going to check the clock FIRST. Work really wore me out this past weekend so I blame that funny situation on that. Anyway... a little about sweet Miss May. I am loving the fact that she is starting to reach for us when she wants us to pick her up. Oh, and the way she rubs her face when she is tired will just melt your heart. She will also rub our face when she is trying to fall asleep. We are starting her on sweet potatoes tonight... I'll let you know how that goes! Adam is on Spring Break this week! He had Adalyn today and they went to the farmers market at the stock yard and bought some tomatoes for the garden and went to Manchester Tire and Break to get daddy's tires rotated and balanced. Needless to say, that wore Adalyn out and she had a good nap this afternoon. He also dressed her in one of her many John Deere shirts. People kept calling her a boy even though her shirt had pink on it! come on people!! People these days... ha. Well, enough rambling from me! Until next time!

New to the Blog world!

Well, I always said I would never do a blog. I have also learned to never say "never". I caved in and decided to make a blog just so I could keep our families in the loop with Adalyn and all the stages she is going through. So, here it goes!
Adalyn is 4 months old now and is SO much fun! She is at the stage where she is laughing at everything and everyone, she loves sticking her foot in her mouth, and is also loving her Organic cereal and bananas! She has rolled over, but for some reason won't do it anymore. She is like her momma, stubborn. Didn't I just have her yesterday? These 4 months have FLOWN by and they have been the best 4 months of my life. Who knew parenthood was so rewarding?! A little bit about Adam... he is teaching Algebra 1 and Geometery and will graduate in May with his Masters. I am so proud of him. Oh, did I mention how awesome of a Dad he is? I am so very blessed and thankful to have him in my life. He is gearing up for garden season now. We actually already have squash plants, watermelons, cantaloupes, and zucchini growing in our living room. Yes, I said living room. For you all who know me, you know that I am freaking out, but only in the inside. haha. I keep telling myself they won't be in these styrofoam cups for long. And as for me... I am still working at the funeral home. Aside from that, I am living life day by day and enjoying every minute I have with my family!
