9 Month Check-up

Monday was Adalyn's 9 month check-up! Adam and I always look forward to her appointments to see how much she weighs and how long she is. (Let me somewhat re-phrase that... we only look forward to the weight and height info, not the shots.
=( )Right now it's looking like she is definitely going to be one tall girl. Just like Daddy. (21 lbs- 90th percentile, 29 3/4 inches- 97th percentile, and 95th percentile in head circumfrence.) Adam wasn't able to go this time so Granna joined us! After playing in the waiting room and laughing and waving at other babies, they finally called us back. Then, we played.
We grabbed circles off the wall...

Then we rolled on Dr. Eastham's chair. Future doctor on our hands?

Next, we got our big toe pricked. What a champ Adalyn was. She just stared at the nurse while she did it.

I almost don't even want to post these few pictures. It breaks my heart.
Mean shot! Boooo

You see how precious her face is even crying? Ah, i love it. haha. Her facial expression while crying has never changed since she was born. I have a picture of her right when I delivered her and the doctor was holding her up and that same wrinkled up face and squished eyes are the same! like I said, I absolutely love it! It's so precious.

She calmed down after about 2 minutes and then was ready to go! I fed her in the car then got back on the road to head back home. Poor thing cried the whole way home which she has never done before. I was by myself which is awful when you have a sad baby in your backseat! =( As soon as we got home, I layed her on my chest and she was OUT. She napped for 3 hours. She had a rough morning!

Another weekend re-cap

So, I was off from work Thursday, Friday and Saturday... thank goodness! So I was able to be home with Adalyn all day. Thursday started off with her morning milk at around 6:30, played for about an hour, then her morning nap takes place. She napped for about 2 hours then wakes up with a smile on her face and is ready to start the day! She keeps me very busy because she is EVERYWHERE. She pulls up on anything and anyone she can get a hold of, and is now climbing on everything she sees! Here are some action shots of her playing...

Friday came and morning time is the same routine everyday. Eat around 6:30, play for about an hour, then nap for an hour or two. Later that day we headed off to the high school to visit daddy and watch the pep rally. She LOVED seeing everyone! She was so happy. She was smiling, laughing, clapping and dancing. She loved the band, too! Her eyes would get real big when they would start to play and then she would dance. Too cute I tell ya. She went to whoever reached their arms out for her. She had a good time. By the time I was leaving the school, she was OUT and napped for about 2 more hours. I am sad to say this, but I forgot to take my camera. =( That night we headed to the football game. So August 20 was her 1st official Red Radier football game. She attended some last year, just in my belly. She LOVED the game!! She just sat and stared at everything going on around her. She was so good.

We left at half-time, went home, put little one to bed, then Adam and I stayed up watching Dear John. What a great movie!

Saturday, we hung around the house all day. Wait, I take that back. Adam and Adalyn made a quick trip to the farm while momma cleaned. It was a very relaxing day!

Sunday was Church. I had to go into work for a few hours then afterwards we made our way to the Church picnic at the park. You know Baptist... we love good food! ;) Adalyn had a great time playing and eating grass.
Grass is about to enter mouth...(she actually ended up almost choking on it. haha)

9 Months Old

Dear Adalyn,

You are now 9 months old. You are offically as old as it took me to cook you in my belly! =) However, they had to induce me at 40 weeks but I firmly believe you would have stayed in there for another week. I love watching you learn and figure out your world. Which you are doing quite well at. You know just about every cabinet in the kitchen and bathroom and you love to explore! We are constantly saying, "no, no no" and then you turn and look at us and start laughing. It's like you know you weren't suppose to be in THAT cabinet but you want to see how much stuff you can pull out before we catch you. Somedays I hold you and give you a squeeze and think, "I couldn't possibly love you anymore than I do right now." And then the next day you do something new or funny and my heart swells even more. You are growing more independent each and every day. You are feeding yourself table food, flipping though books, and pulling your blocks out of the bucket. However, there are still those moments I long for. Like those moments when I see you really DO still need me. Like when you crawl over to me and reach your arms up at me like, "Please momma, pick me up! I need you". Or when you are in your play pen and you are ready to get out you just stare at me and say "ma ma ma" and reach your arms at me. It's like you know I still need to see that "baby-ness" from you. You are changing so quickly. You learn a new sound or babble everyday, a new place to explore, and I could go on and on. You are the biggest wiggle worm when we try and change your diaper or dress you. It's hard for me to remember us dressing you before you learned to roll over. Once you started rolling, it was all OVER! It's a huge workout to get you ready for the day. oh, and you also cut your 5th tooth on your 9 month birthday! Thank goodness that tooth is finally thru. Whew!

I Love you Adalyn May. I understand you are getting older, but please promise you will always stay my "baby".

Love,
Momma

This is me 9 months ago...

Then a few short hours later, you were HERE!

and here is your 9 month picture..

Weekend Re-Cap (July 30-August1)

I was off this weekend (thank goodness) so I had a great weekend with sweet Adalyn and Adam. On Friday, Adalyn started clapping!! I was feeding her breakfast and all of a sudden she breaks out clapping and laughing! It was the cutest thing. I guess she was so excited about her Mango's she was eating and just couldn't contain herself. Of course, my camera was in the living room so I ran to get it and when i came back, I politely asked her to clap again for momma and she just looked at me. Ha. So I assumed she wouldn't clap again for a long time. Just like rolling over, she rolled over for the 1st time back in march, and it took her a few weeks to even act liked she cared to do it again! Anyway, after breakfast we headed to the great-grandparents to spend the day with them. After packing up diapers, wipes, extra change of clothes, and loads of toys, we were headed to Hillsboro. To my surprise, grandmother and Adalyn were playing pat-a-cake and she started clapping again! and from that point forward, she hasn't stopped. haha. She breaks out in clapping whenever she feels the need. It's so darn cute. We have been practicing with her on clapping for the longest, but I guess she's like her momma and doesn't catch on quickly. hahaha!

That night, we headed over to Granna and Granddaddy's. Mommy and Daddy got in the hot tub while Adalyn hung out in her Johnny Jump-Up.

Saturday morning came and I started cleaning. For you all who know me you know I can't stand it when my house is messy! So daddy and Adalyn loaded up and headed to the farm to check on the cows while I cleaned. Adalyn hates when the vacuum cleaner is on (but loves looking at while its off)so I was able to vacuum without her crawling up adam's shirt. When they got back, we went to Murfreesboro to shop! 1st stop... Party City. Yes, I am already buying things for her 1st Birthday! A little early, I know, I know, but I figure go ahead and buy some of the small stuff now so I won't have to worry with it later.Let me just say, her 1st Birthday is going to be amazing. After Party City, I changed a dirty diaper in the car, then we headed to the mall. We visited Aeropostale, Victoria's Secret, Finish Line, and Sears.(that one was for daddy) We then decided we were hungry to we stopped at Jason's Deli on the way to The Avenue. We decided to give Adalyn a taste of a pickle. I of course had my camera ready to get her reaction to the sour taste but to my surprise, she LOVED it!

We then went to The Avenue. 1st stop was Carters to just "look" around. ha. Adalyn does not need any clothes whatsoever buttt you can't go to The Avenue without stopping in Carters. $50.00 later, we went on to Bath and Body Works & American Eagle then we loaded back up in the car and headed for home!

Sunday, went to Church. Adalyn proceded to cry when we left her in the nursery. =( 2nd Sunday in a row that she has done that. Breaks my heart I tell you! After Church, Christina's Tea started at 1 so we had to set up the Parlor. (baby Levi got a lot of good stuff!) Instead of helping, Adalyn played with the cooler. She loved touching the bag of ice.

After a long afternoon, we hung out at home and relaxed! It was a great weekend.
