Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a good weekend! The weather was perfect. Friday night Adam had to be an escort thing for graduation so Adalyn and I stayed home and played. She was asleep by the time he got home. Before he left, I got a huge craving for brownies. That's all I could talk about. Well, when he gets home that night, he has a box of brownies in a food lion bag. sweet! I baked them and we had a late night snack. Thanks babe! Saturday Adam took Adalyn to the farm for the day while I had a day to myself. Much needed. I went to my parents and layed out all day long. It was so nice. I have been so pale so i was determined to get sun. I actually got pretty burnt- as did landon. My belly is so red! I made sure to cover him up every so often. I guess he was pretty hot because he basically kicked and punched me the entire time. When I got home, I put a lasagna in the oven, fixed some salads, and cleaned a little before they got home. Sunday was Church then we headed home for a nap. adalyn usually naps before we leave for Sunday School but didnt so we hadn't even been out of the church parking lot for 5 minutes and she is passed out in her car seat. She napped for about an 1 1/2 or so then we got ready and headed to the lake to meet my uncle and aunt on the boat. adalyn's 1st time on the boat was memorial day last year and she was 6 1/2 months old.

and this year--

Today, (Monday) we were home until lunch, then headed to Wal-Mart to buy groceries and burgers. We then went to my parents to swim and adalyn is definitely a water baby. She was 7 months old when we put her in swimming lessons last year and she loved it then. It's amazing to see how much she loves it this year. She kept jumping off the side of the pool to Adam which was pretty impressive. She kept saying, "gin gin" (again). She likes floating on her stomach and kicking. she says, "kick kick kick" over and over. Jerry and nancy came over and we grilled out. It was such a nice day.
and I have to post a picture of her curlsShe may look nothing like me, but she definitely got those curls from me!

I have a lot of blogging to do, but for now, I am just going to upload some of Adalyn's 18 month old pictures that I attempted to take myself! I must say, I was pretty impressed with them. She is such a ham!

Quick post

This post will be short and to the point with no pictures. Just an update on us! We are LOVING our new house! I have yet to take pictures of everything but will very soon. We have a huge yard that Adalyn loves to run around in. We have been busy organzing, planting flowers, going for walks in the neighborhood, and tilling up our garden. I am embroidering full time during the week now as opposed to 7:30-11:30 every night- which was getting OLD. I sew 2-3 times a week all day long and I am so thankful I am able to focus on this! I quit my job and to be honest, I believe it was the BEST decision I have ever made. I am a totally different person being away and in a different setting. I am finally back to the old me and that's how it should be. I now can focus on my family at ALL times!!! Which is the world to me. Some people just can't understand that but that's their loss I guess! =) Adam is almost done teaching for the school year and will start his summer semester for his Ed.S. he graduates in Decemeber! Wahoo! Our summer will be spent traveling-- a lot! Ocala, Disney, Panama City, Helen, Ga, and where ever else our heart desires I guess. Well, that's a short wrap up about the Clark's. thanks to all my family and true friends for the support and love!

It's a BOY!

I had my 20 week appointment today and we found out we are having a little boy! Adam and I have not stopped smiling all day long. Deep down I wanted a boy and kind of thought it may be only because my pregnancy has been so different than Adalyn's. I was SICK for 15 weeks with her and with him its been so much easier! I have always told Adam that I hope our next one is just like him- laid back and relaxed. Adalyn does not look a thing like me but oh she has my personality! ha! We are naming our son Landon Riley. Riley is his late granddad's middle name and we have had Landon picked out for years. Now that we are having a boy, I will definitely need some advice from you ladies who are mothers to boys. I understand they pee everywhere all the time, but other than that, what should I be aware of? If we were to have had a girl, she would have been SET when it came to clothes- now we are starting from scratch! Adam and I bought Landon a TON of clothes today which was fun. I see a lot of blue in my future.
Me at 20 weeks 3 days

Meet Landon!

Adalyn and the potty

Well, today is officially the last day at my job! It is definitely bitter sweet. I will miss the people I work with on a day to day basis but I will not miss the demand of this profession. I am so grateful for my very supportive family and thank them for being by my side during this long journey!

Aside from that news, Adalyn is very interested in the potty. She has been for some time now. She will just stare at the potty and here lately when we ask her if she pooped or peed, she will grab her diaper and say either "poo poo!" or "pee pee!" She squeals when she says it and its so cute. So yesterday I had to pee(sorry) and told her I was going to use the potty. Then she pointed at it and said, "potty" I asked if she needed to potty and she said yes. So, i thought well what the heck! I took her diaper off and sat on her the toliet. She just smiled and laughed the entire time. We did that about 4 different times yesterday morning. Even though she did not potty, I was still so impressed and thrilled that she is so interested in it. So my goal is to continue to sit her on the potty until she finally does something! I mean, is that how it works? lol I am obviously new at this so maybe its time to buy her her own potty so she can get use to sitting on it. She will figure it out! Smart girl we have.

No pictures to post, just wanted to share some important information!

Adalyn May

She is almost 17 month old and oh my goodness! the personality! she seriously has to be the funniest, smartest, girl we know! (of course we are biased) She is talking up a storm which is the cutest thing ever. You tell her a word and she does her very best to say it back to us. When she signs Please, she now also says "Pees". She is really into "listening" for things. We can hear a train everyday and she puts her little hand up to her ear and says, "shhh". Then she says "tain" and says "choo choo" while moving her arm up and down. She is really into birds and dogs as well. At the funeral home, we have a bird shed of doves that we release at the cemetery and we always go and talk to them. She will put her hand to her mouth (like trying to make a beak) and say " toot toot"- her version of tweet tweet. Their are also some dogs down the road and so the other day she told the birds bye bye and started barking and pointing for us to go visit the dogs. She can clearly answer us when we ask her a question about something. "sssii" is yes and No is no! It's so funny b/c she knows she isnt allowed to touch or play with certain things so she will go up to it and point her finger and say, "no no no". hahaha. I have always mentioned her love for books. She would rather sit a read a book than do just about anything! Which i totally love that. Her favorite place to be is under the dining room table. She will crawl under there with a book, pat the floor beside her for "dada" and pat the other side of her for "mama". So, Adam and I spend a lot of time underneath our table. We wouldn't have it any other way! She loves to say "baby" and will come and point at my belly. She is also giving her brother or sister lots of kisses. Cheese is her favorite snack. She runs to the fridge and points and says, "cheeeessseee" over and over again. The funny thing is, she knows the difference between provolone and cheddar cheese. It must be yellow- not white and she will eat it. Nancy had her yesterday and they were talking about Wal-Mart and Adalyn calls it "Mal Mal". I guess you can tell we are frequent visitors of the wal-mart. She says bubble, purple, and turtle, too. It really just seems like everyday she is saying and doing something brand new! I haven't really updated everyone with the adventures of Adalyn lately so I had some time to do it.

House

We bought our very first home and have been so busy painting, tearing up carpet, and buying new flooring for the entire house! I was off this past weekend so Adalyn and I made a trip to Murfreesboro to get her some new white sandals for summer and we made a trip to Target to look for bathroom stuff for mine and Adam's bathroom. Nothing really stood out to me so I bought Adalyn the cutest pair of sunglasses, 2 books, and a beach ball. I swear I can't even leave a store without spending money. Once we got back to Manchester, Adam was done with work so we met him at the house. Adalyn loves how big our yard is and was running all over the place!

Looking cute with our new sunglasses

Playing!

Wore out from all the running around she did. Relaxing while watching Mickey Mouse

The house is coming along so nicely! It was built in 2001, and they had a small dog which meant the carpet was beyond nasty. Adam and I headed to Dalton, GA on Saturday and purchased new carpet for the entire house, laminate hardwood for the foyer and dining room, and linoleum for the kitchen. Since I am pregnant, Adam has not let me paint a single room! Which is fine I suppose, I have always hated to paint anyway. BUT- I feel so useless! lol. Thankfully, Adam had 2 full days after we closed while he was still on Spring Break and he painted and painted and painted. Our family has also painted and helped so much. Adam ripped up all the carpet yesterday and I went behind him with a painting stick and a putty knife that my dad ducked taped to the rod and put a screw in so I could scrape away all the extra foam and those stupid staples that kept the carpet and carpet pad down with. He fixed that up for me b/c I started out on my hands and knees and my belly is really starting to get in the way and i thought my right arm was going to fall off. So, with my handy rod fixed up, i started scraping away! It took me hours to finish, I had to rest a lot. You just don't realize that your body cant handle a lot of work when you are pregnant which sucks! Now, the right side of my lower back is hurting but other than that Im in pretty good shape! My dad has been working on the wainscotting in Adalyn's room. We are making it just like her room now. I am still so in love with it. We have not painted the new babies room or their bathroom yet until we know what I'm cooking in there. We will also put wainscotting up in his or her room as well. I just love the look of it. The floor guys started early this morning in the kitchen so I think the entire house will be done by Wednesday! Then, we can start moving furniture. So, that's a little update on our new home! I will post pictures soon =)
