Our 2015 Summer Vacation- Days 1 & 2!

Thursday, June 11 we headed to Patsy and Bo's house for the first stop of our summer vacation. As soon as I left work I went home, helped pack the rest of the car and we got on the road. Bonnaroo was in in full force and we were leaving town! The kids were set with lots of movies, books, snacks, and coloring books. Traveling with them is SO SO much easier than when they were much smaller! They were happy and content on our two hour drive to the Ocoee. We met Jerry, Nancy, Patsy and Bo for supper then headed to their house. Everytime we visit them I declare their house the best vacation home ever. It is just so comfortable and the setting surrounding the home in like no other. We were so glad to spend time with them!
The kids had a ball playing outside and in their awesome toy room. We woke up to a delicious breakfast and then re-packed the vehicle to make our way to Helen, GA. We were all excited!

and we're off!

Landon loves playing in their yard

So pretty!

Geeze- he is looking so much older these days!

Patsy and Nancy

This is in their bunk house on top of their garage. They have lots of grandkids so how awesome is this space for them?!
(there is another "bunk" on the other side as well)

Each bed has their own nightlight as well

My little chef helping prepare breakfast

Bo has a way with kids and they just cling to him!

We then loaded up and started out journey to Helen. This is a town Adam's family visits every summer. We haven't been since Landon was 9 months old so we were glad we were able to go for a few days!

We do a lot of swimming, playing and eating. Adam's family is large so people are coming in and out all during the week due to everyones schedules. We weren't able to go hiking on this trip but have in the past and it's just so beautiful.

Our first day (Friday)

We went out to dinner Friday night and sat on the deck of the restaurant and watched people tube the river below us. We then had ice cream for a snack!
Adalyn actually ate Orange sherbert ice cream. She isn't a big fan of ice cream usually so I was proud she liked it!
(she eats popsicles all day long but for some reason ice cream just really isn't her thing!)

This was the night Adalyn and Landon got stung while on the playground. They both started crying at the same exact time and Adalyn ran to me and inbetween her sobbing said something prickly stung her. Come to find out, Adam thought he saw a few hornets around the area they were playing after it all happend. 1 hornet stung Landon's leg and 1 stung Adalyn on her middle finger.
Double ouch.
:(
Saturday

Cousins!

A huge creek runs through the resort property. It so pretty!

We then went tubing down the river. Everyone gets a tube to their self and we float for 2 hours through the town of Helen. So much fun! I wish I had pictures but I don't see I left my camera in the car. Adalyn and Landon both "accidentally" fell out a couple of times and laughed while doing so. The water is freezing yet so refreshing at the same time. I always look forward to doing this each time we visit.

When we got back, we all went swimming!

That night it was our night to cook for everyone. We had Clark Farms burgers, hot dogs, and all the sides. Delicious!

After dinner, we played on the playground and then visited with family on the balconies of our room. The 3 kids played together and ended up watching Ice Age on a pallet. It was a fun evening!

Sunday morning we woke up and packed up the car to leave for the beach. We told everyone bye and were on the road around 8:15 or so. We were all excited!

We had a wonderful time in the mountains of Georgia with Adam's family.
Fun memories were made!

I'll be blogging the rest of our trip within the next few days!

And just for fun....
this was our very first visit to Helen in 2010!
Here is our trip in 2011!
and I was sporting a 27 week pregnant belly on that trip, too.
;)

We then went back in 2012 when Landon was 9 months old

We didn't go for 2 summers so it was nice to be back!
