Pumpkin Carving

Sunday afternoon after naps, we headed outside to carve our pumpkins. It was so funny to watch Adalyn squirm when she would touch the pumpkin guts. It was pretty comical! Adam is the best pumpkin carver ever so he took care of tracing on the pumpkin and actually carving it.

Adalyn was more interested in what was going on than Landon was. You know what he wanted to do instead? Yes, ride his tractor. Best money ever spent. He loves it so much. We were able to direct his attention to the digging out of the guts at first so he helped some.

I'm so glad I caught Adalyn's expression on camera. This was right after she touched all the gooey insides from the pumpkin.
Priceless!

Getting a little braver...

Landon heard us laughing and decided to come over and check everything out. He wanted to help, too. But only for a little while.

And no, I did not intend on Adam and Adalyn matching... I just happened to grab that certain jacket for her and Adam was already dressed. (but it's kind of cute)

After playing witht the "guts" for a little bit, the kids wanted to play. We left Adam to make his masterpieces while we walked around the yard and played. Adalyn did cartwheels while Landon drove his tractor. He drives right on the edge of the yard, fence, bushes, etc just like Adam does when he has to mow. It's so funny to see what things they pick up when you least expect it. He doesn't know how to reverse. When he runs into something, he continues to push the gas pedal and looks at us until we come and help him. ha.

Here is the finished product!
We brought the mums up on the porch to save them from the frost. Thankfully, that has helped because they are still as beautiful as the day we got them!
Adam did a great job on our pumpkins. In case you are wondering, that is a "C". When Landon saw it, he immediately said, "A Moon!!!!" hahaha.

After we cleaned everything up outside, we made a trip to Home Depot to get some pansies. We also ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut (stuffed crust I might add!). The whole way home, Landon kept saying, "I eat pizza! I eat pizza!" We fixed a picnic in the living room, ate our pizza and bread sticks, and watched some Halloween episodes on Disney Jr. Love nights like that.

Happy (almost) Halloween!

This is one of the many reasons I blog. I absolutely LOVE looking back on previous posts! I straightened Adalyn's hair that day (the 1 and only time! I was just curious :) and Landon was such a little thing! It looked like is was a really warm day as well the way they were dressed.
