Saturday we headed to Cedarwood Pumpkin Patch for an afternoon of fun! We have been going to this certain pumpkin patch for a few years now and it is something I look forward to every year when Fall comes around. There is just something about pumpkins, orange leaves, and cool air that gets you ready for the Fall season! We ate lunch and then left around 12:45 which was right at the kids nap time. Worked out great because they napped on the way there and then were ready to play once they woke up! It was very cloudy Saturday and surprisingly very windy and chilly! I knew Fall was here but Saturday was almost down right cold! But, the weather didn't stop us and the cold weather doesn't seem to affect the kids in any way. It's us adults who become babies when we are out in the cold. I took a lot of pictures of our day, as you knew I would. Adalyn and Landon had a ball going from one activity to the next. They have SO much for kids to do. Landon is at a great age to where he can really run around and keep up (somewhat) with his sister and enjoy everything, too.
Our journey to Cedarwood Pumpkin Patch started in 2010. Adalyn was a few weeks shy of 1 year old. Read about it here!
In 2011, Adalyn was almost 2 and Landon was a few weeks old. I specifically remember this visit because Landon slept the entire car ride there, the whole time we were at the pumpkin patch, and the entire car ride back home that evening. I don't even think I took any pictures of him. He stayed in his car seat the whole time with a blanket over it while we put all of our attention on a little blonde 23 month old. I tried searching for the blog post about that visit and looks like I never did blog about it. That's because I had a 23 month old and a 5 week old... need I say more?
Last year was a lot of fun, too! Landon just turned 1 and Adalyn was almost 3. Read about it here!
The kids ages are so fun right now! Not that any age is necessarily easy, but oh is it getting SO much easier now! Two so close in age can be tricky at times, but fun none the less!
Landon sat on every tractor we saw. He kept saying, "Me sit on tractor!" over and over again.
He loved tossing the pumpkins into the baskets. His big ol' smile says it all!
Adalyn liked tossing the hula hoops
Next, they played in the bed of corn. An all time favorite!
We stop at this wagon every year to snap a picture.
2010
(looks like they had a truck instead of a wagon this year)
2011
Remember, I didn't blog about it. Ooops!
2012
2013
I rocked a bun this year. That was a good decision. Like I said, it was so windy!
I took like 20 pictures just hoping I could grab a smile from Landon. Didn't happen. He is not interested in the camera, unlike Adalyn. Oh well. Maybe next year!
Next, we rode the train!
After the train ride, we walked from activity to activity. They have an old house set up to walk through, a school house, and even a play house. Adalyn absolutely loved the play house. It had two kitchens in it, a table, toy grocery cart, food, etc. She was in heaven!
They also had a huge sand box with lots of toys to play with, too.
Guess what Landon did?
We finally walked off and left him. No worries though. He eventually decided he didn't want to play alone and caught up to us.
Love this of my two boys!
They had 4 slides to play on as well. I took pictures while the kids (and Adam) went down multiple times.
(by the way, I think this is one of my favorite pictures of Landon! He really does have the sweetest smile!)
We also stopped to look at the animals. Adalyn was in her element. Landon liked looking too, but he kept pointing and saying, "Tractor". Totally not surprised at that.
I snapped this pictures because I remembered our first visit to the pumpkin patch back in 2010 I took one of Adalyn standing by this fence. I love comparison pictures. It is so so neat to see how much she has changed over the years!
We also climbed on the huge tires. Adalyn loved doing this!
Next, was the hayride. I packed snacks and once we had the kids seated and situated, they started eating. All that walking and playing will make you hungry. The hayride is pretty long and on the way to pick our pumpkins, a lady on the ride with us had a bag full of ring pops. She passed them out to all the kids. She said she was a Grandmother and always came prepared. Thank goodness for Grandmothers! The kids enjoyed their treat.
Once the hay ride was over, we got in the car to warm up! We were pretty cold by this point. I got the kids a bag of chips for the car ride home. They ate quietly in the back seat and when I turned around, I saw this.
Red lips from the ring pop, water in his lap, hand in the bag of chips, and he was out like a light. :)
We got home around 4:15 or so. We all changed into warm clothes and layed on the couch and watched a movie on tv. Later, Megan, Ambrae and the kids came over to visit with us for a while. I will blog about that soon!
We had a great visit to the pumpkin patch! Next year, I will have a 3 year old and an almost 5 year old when we go back. Wow. Typing that made it seem so real. That is just so crazy to think about!
Happy Fall Y'all!
