Our 2015 Summer Vacation- Days 1 & 2!

Thursday, June 11 we headed to Patsy and Bo's house for the first stop of our summer vacation. As soon as I left work I went home, helped pack the rest of the car and we got on the road. Bonnaroo was in in full force and we were leaving town! The kids were set with lots of movies, books, snacks, and coloring books. Traveling with them is SO SO much easier than when they were much smaller! They were happy and content on our two hour drive to the Ocoee. We met Jerry, Nancy, Patsy and Bo for supper then headed to their house. Everytime we visit them I declare their house the best vacation home ever. It is just so comfortable and the setting surrounding the home in like no other. We were so glad to spend time with them!
The kids had a ball playing outside and in their awesome toy room. We woke up to a delicious breakfast and then re-packed the vehicle to make our way to Helen, GA. We were all excited!

and we're off!

Landon loves playing in their yard

So pretty!

Geeze- he is looking so much older these days!

Patsy and Nancy

This is in their bunk house on top of their garage. They have lots of grandkids so how awesome is this space for them?!
(there is another "bunk" on the other side as well)

Each bed has their own nightlight as well

My little chef helping prepare breakfast

Bo has a way with kids and they just cling to him!

We then loaded up and started out journey to Helen. This is a town Adam's family visits every summer. We haven't been since Landon was 9 months old so we were glad we were able to go for a few days!

We do a lot of swimming, playing and eating. Adam's family is large so people are coming in and out all during the week due to everyones schedules. We weren't able to go hiking on this trip but have in the past and it's just so beautiful.

Our first day (Friday)

We went out to dinner Friday night and sat on the deck of the restaurant and watched people tube the river below us. We then had ice cream for a snack!
Adalyn actually ate Orange sherbert ice cream. She isn't a big fan of ice cream usually so I was proud she liked it!
(she eats popsicles all day long but for some reason ice cream just really isn't her thing!)

This was the night Adalyn and Landon got stung while on the playground. They both started crying at the same exact time and Adalyn ran to me and inbetween her sobbing said something prickly stung her. Come to find out, Adam thought he saw a few hornets around the area they were playing after it all happend. 1 hornet stung Landon's leg and 1 stung Adalyn on her middle finger.
Double ouch.
:(
Saturday

Cousins!

A huge creek runs through the resort property. It so pretty!

We then went tubing down the river. Everyone gets a tube to their self and we float for 2 hours through the town of Helen. So much fun! I wish I had pictures but I don't see I left my camera in the car. Adalyn and Landon both "accidentally" fell out a couple of times and laughed while doing so. The water is freezing yet so refreshing at the same time. I always look forward to doing this each time we visit.

When we got back, we all went swimming!

That night it was our night to cook for everyone. We had Clark Farms burgers, hot dogs, and all the sides. Delicious!

After dinner, we played on the playground and then visited with family on the balconies of our room. The 3 kids played together and ended up watching Ice Age on a pallet. It was a fun evening!

Sunday morning we woke up and packed up the car to leave for the beach. We told everyone bye and were on the road around 8:15 or so. We were all excited!

We had a wonderful time in the mountains of Georgia with Adam's family.
Fun memories were made!

I'll be blogging the rest of our trip within the next few days!

And just for fun....
this was our very first visit to Helen in 2010!
Here is our trip in 2011!
and I was sporting a 27 week pregnant belly on that trip, too.
;)

We then went back in 2012 when Landon was 9 months old

We didn't go for 2 summers so it was nice to be back!

8 Year Anniversary

8 years ago (June 2, 2007) was one of the happiest days of my life! Adam and I committed our lives to one another in our Church in front of our family and friends. I will never forget that day for so many reasons! In 8 years we have learned that marriage is hard work! It's a daily commitment and you have to realize you are in this as a team. These past 8 years being married to him have been the best of my life. Our life we have created together has been such a blessing.
I am so thankful for the man God chose to be my husband, and I so appreciate how selfless he is.
The person he is blesses me beyond measure.

Happy Anniversary to my partner for life!

Life Lately!

It's summer time and we have been enjoying it to the fullest! We are taking advantage of the longer days by staying outside longer and eating supper later. Some nights we even go back out after baths to catch fireflies and walk around. Softball is still in full swing with at least 1 game a week followed by a practice at some point. Adalyn is still taking Gymnastics one day a week as well and is doing such a good job. The older she gets, the more and more she reminds me of myself. She wants to constantly practice ball in the yard and does cartwheels every chance she gets.
VBS, ball games, swimming and farming is what we have been up to so far!

Vacation Bible School is such a fun week for our kids! Adam helps with 5th grade recreation and Adalyn was in the "entering Kindergarten" class while Landon was in the 3 year old class. I work Monday-Thursday during the summer so I was able to help with the completed kindergarten class on Friday.
I would come home from work in the afternoons and ask Landon how his day was at VBS and I would hear, " I was great!" He would throw in "It's the best EVER!" as well. Adalyn had a big surprise Thursday after VBS was over. She went with Chloe to the Rec Center pool! From my understanding (and hearing allll about it when she got home) they had a blast.

Friday after VBS Adam and I surprised the kids by taking them to swim! The squeals coming from the truck could probably be heard from the pool itsself. We stayed for hours and a lot of our church friends were there, too! The kids had friends to play with and I had mommas to talk to! It was such a fun afternoon. So thankful our community has such a great outdoor (and indoor) pool/waterpark. Makes for lots of fun for everyone!

Sunday night was VBS night and Adalyn and her class sang a few songs before the musical began. I love watching her up on that stage singing in the name of the Lord!

We had 10 baby pigs born on May 31. We got there just an hour or so after she gave birth. You will never get tired of seeing brand new baby pigs! Oh so so tiny!

We then went over to check on our "bigger" pigs :)
We let the kids roam around and pet them (if they will let them) and play with sticks or whatever else they find.
See the old shed in the background?
That's Adalyn's "store"
;) Love her imagination!

Adam grew up on this farm and I am so honored to be able to help carry on "Clark Farms" on this beautiful piece of 53 acres.
We are so blessed!

These two sweet kiddos made their way to our bed one morning while I was getting ready for work

The kids helped Granddaddy move hay one Saturday afternoon

and this little guy came by to visit me at work one day

and this was on Mother's Day but I forgot to post it!

That's life lately!
I wrote half of this post over a week and a half ago and I'm just now getting around to finishing it up.
Now to catch up on current happenings!

Memorial Day Weekend 2015

Saturday morning started with the boys heading to the farm and us girls staying back to deep clean the house. I love to clean and from what I can tell, Adalyn may have inherited that trait from me since she loves to make her bed and help me out in cleaning as well. We are up early in our house so we got an early start and was finished by 10. We then headed to the farm for the rest of the day. The weather was beautiful!

The majority of our day on the farm the kids are right along with us. We put them to work and they love it! (for now anyway lol) Normally after lunch the kids will stay in and go down for a nap. Then we are able to finish up whatever else needs to be done outside. Once they are up, they are ready to come back out with us. They love having a push up as an afternoon snack so we happily oblige!

Sunday morning we went to early service and then Sunday School before going to my parents to cook out and swim. The kids changed as soon as we walked in the door and jumped in.
Their first swim of the season!

We pulled them out after about 30 minutes because lunch was ready. Adam grilled Clark Farms burgers and some hot dogs and we had all the fixings to go with it.
DELICIOUS!

After lunch, we went right back outside. These two kids swam for around 3 1/2 hours that afternoon. Stright. No breaks. The water was freezing but it didn't bother them at all. Adam was brave enough to get in though. My mom and I layed out and soaked up the sun that afternoon. It was glorious.

Later on, Adam and my dad headed to Hillsboro to deal with hay so my mom and I got the kids out of the pool (finally!) and went to the front yard. We colored with chalk, played with tractors and trucks, painted fingernails and put a puzzle together. The weather was perfect that evening! The best breeze ever. The kids had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for supper and they each ate about an entire bag of chips to go along with it. lol I dont know about you but potato chips and swimming just kind of go together, am I right?

Once the guys arrived back home, we warmed up some more burgers and ate a late supper.

And what did these two do?
Jumped back in the swimming pool.
We let them skip their nap that day and they literally swam all afternoon/evening long!
Landon also received a much needed haircut out on the deck on this night as well. Adam and I left around 8:00 and the kids were already bathed in bed watching TV.
Swimming will wipe some kids out!

We decided to swim and cookout on Sunday since we knew the weather wasn't going to be so favorable on Memorial Day. Adam and I woke up and went outside to finish working in the back yard and then headed to Wal-Mart to buy groceries. We then picked up the kids and came back for naps. Once they were up, we headed to Dustin and Christina's house for the rest of the night to eat pizza and play! We got home late and went straight to bed. We had such a fun time!

Hope you guys had a fun Memorial Day weekend, too!
