Mother's Day 2015

Sunday morning I woke up to cards and lots of hugs and kisses from my 3 favorite people! Adam asked what I wanted him to cook for breakfast but I just stuck with my peanut butter toast that I eat every morning. :) I'm not a huge breakfast fan and just have to be in the mood for it!
We got ready for Church and packed up the car for the rest of our day.

We went to my mom and dad's after Church and snapped some pictures, ordered Mexican, and enjoyed our afternoon! Our lunch was delicious, we all took a much needed nap, and then we played outside! It was such a relaxing afternoon. We helped my dad fold up the cover from the pool and the kids are so ready to swim! We can't wait for the pool to be ready!

We left around 4:45 and headed home to grill steaks for Jerry and Nancy! We ate a delicious supper and we went in and out playing with the kids. The weather was just perfect. I have pictures, but they are on Adam's phone. Boo! I will upload those once I get them.

I am so thankful for my mom and Nancy!

Being a mom is the hardest and most amazing job we will ever have! I know at times I feel defeated and exhausted, but being a momma is the best job the Lord could have blessed me with. And for that, I am so so thankful. It is tough, daily work but I try to remember to treasure these fun ages and live one day at a time.

Happy Mother's Day!

Field trip to the Discovery Center

This past Tuesday Adalyn's pre-k class and the 3 year old class went on a field trip to the Discovery Center. I was excited to go with her and we all had a ball! The weather was perfect- hot and sunny! The last time we visited the Discovery Center was when Adalyn was 21 months old and I was 39 weeks pregnant with Landon. You can read about it here!

We arrived at 9:00 and went into a room and was able listen to a lady talk to us about a few animals and then we were able to pet them! We pet a snake, turtle, bunny and a ferret. All the kids loved it and myself AND Adalyn even pet the snake.  That says a lot coming from me. lol After that, we were able to roam the place! I had such a fun time talking to the other moms and watching all the kids go from one activity to another. We ate a picnic lunch outside and then headed back home. I dropped Adalyn off with Lynn and I went back to work. It was such a fun morning!

This was the end result from her field trip.
Dirty knees and a sleepy girl!

Life lately!

Summer is almost here! The temperatures this week have been so hot but I am loving it!! We eat popsicles in the afternoon and play outside until after 6:00 or so. After supper and baths, we will go back outside to water all of our flowers. The evenings have felt so nice and refreshing- I love this time of year!

We are keeping busy with ball practice, games, gymnastics, church and farming. We had 11 pigs born two weeks ago so we have really enjoyed holding them and watching them follow their momma around and venture out on their own.

We had some friends visit the farm on Saturday.
The kids had a blast together!

After Adalyn's ball game on Monday, Adam decided he would go on home to start cooking supper and make lunches for the next day so I took the kids to play at the park. The weather couldn't have been any better and we had such a fun time. I love watching those two run around with excitement trying to figure out what slide to try next. We visited the creek as well and I begged them not to "fall in" since I didn't have a change of clothes for them. I'm happy to report, they obeyed and didn't "accidentally" fall in- you mommas know what I mean!
;)

This might sound so silly to some but I have noticed these past two weeks just how much older Landon is getting/acting. The real reason I have noticed this is simply by asking to take his picture. If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you know I have declared Landon as the hardest kid in the world to take a picture of. He was just never interested in sitting and smiling. By chance that you have seen a really good picture of Adalyn and Landon together and he is looking AT the camera AND smiling at the same time, I assure you my finger was down on my shutter button for at least 20 seconds while it was clicking away. We also would bribe and dance to make him pay attention. You gotta do what ya gotta do, right?
Well, here lately, anytime I have asked for both of them to stop for a picture or if I have asked just Landon himself to smile for me, he does it.
Just like that.
He smiles, looks straight at my camera or phone, and says, "cheese".
I never thought the day would come!
And get this, he has even ASKED me to take his picture. He will gladly smile the biggest smile for me, too.
Something as little as that has made me realize that my baby is growing up. In a few months he will be 4.
So hard for me to wrap my mind around!

Y'all, I turned my head for THREE seconds!
I busted out laughing.
So instead of making him stop, I snapped his picture.
Because, duh!
:P

Saturday evening once we left the farm we headed over to my grandparents (or my parents house- that will take some getting use to!) to see the progress of everything. It's really coming along!
My dad took the kids on a 4-wheeler ride and you could hear Adalyn squeal with excitement the entire time.

Sunday afternoon, Adam had an awards thing so I put the kids down for a nap and marched myself out to our trampoline and laid out and ended up dozing off. It was glorious!

So basically, we have been keeping pretty busy! Now, we are counting down the days until the beach.

Happy almost summer!

Oh, and I wanted to share just because it's hilarious.

Softball season has started!

Last Friday night (April 17) was Opening Ceremonies for the Fastpitch League. Thankfully, the rain held off and the ceremonies were able to take place! Adalyn was so excited to be in her uniform for the first time and to see all the other teams. Every girl was individually called and all teams stood on the field for recognition. After the ceremonies, our coach treated the girls and their families to pizza at Rafaels! We had such a fun time eating and watching all the girls and siblings play with one another. After pizza, we walked down for some Frozen Yogurt which was delicious! After our snack, we went home and put the kids to bed. Adalyn's 1st game was the next morning at 9:00!

Our ball player

I have to admit, I love seeing #2 on the back of her shirt!
Brings back tons of memories for me!!

Adalyn and Brylyn are such sweet little friends! Brylyn's mom and I played softball together for years and years so maybe these two girls will do the same thing!

Saturday morning was their very first game. Everyone did great! In the 6U divison, each team ( I believe) has 7 girls ranging from 4-6 years old. They allow each player to bat through the line up before they go back into the field, which I love! The coach pitches 3 times, and if they don't hit, they will put the tee out for them so each girl is guaranteed a hit.
I must admit though, as precious as it is watching these sweet girls figure out this game of softball, it is also a little stressful for the adults- HA!
When I say the coaches had to start at the very beginning with them, that means telling them where 1st, 2nd, 3rd and home plate were located, explaining to drop the bat when you hit the ball and run to first (Adalyn carried it with her on her first practice LOL), what the term "choke up" means, and "put your glove on the ground" (to catch a grounder) doesn't mean you catch the grounder, throw off your glove and then throw the ball. I'm laughing just thinking about this because that was exactly what Adalyn did at one of their practices. But if you think about it, she did exactly as she was told- hahaha!

This will be such a fun first season for all of us! I am loving this new adventure we are on, even if that means we eat supper on practice nights at 7:30...
;)

Pictures from her first game against Piggy Back Financial
It was SO cool seeing her on this field.
I spent 4 years playing on that field and it means so much to me!

Good form baby girl!

1st time at bat

Adalyn is on short stop

Down and ready!

I snapped this one because Adalyn was playing catcher. I was the catcher up until 9th grade when they moved me to Short Stop (then 3rd the rest of my high school days)
If Adalyn continues to love the sport and wants to play, I wonder what position she will be once in high school?!
It's so fun to think about.
Adalyn knows my love for this game runs deep and I do not want her to play just because I love it so much. I truly want her to have fun and enjoy the sport! (Deep down, I am praying she LOVES it though-ha!!)

Score is not kept on the scoreboard so the girls have no clue if they won or lost which again, I think is great. Soon enough they will understand it's a competition but for now, they only want to have fun
:)

A surprise for Adalyn was seeing Chloe in the stands watching her play. These two are best friends and Adalyn was beyond thrilled when she learned she was going to Chloe's for a sleep over! After her game, she went to Chloe's house and they played and played and then I met up with them and we all went to the movie theater to watch Cinderella and ate supper at Chick-fil-a afterwards. I'll post about that soon but wanted to share this picture of these two girls.
Love them!

Their 2nd game was this Monday and we learned all games will be played on Mondays and/or Thursdays.

Welcome softball season!!
